Easter Bunny came and General Conference

The kids are happy the Easter bunny came!

General conference is this weekend, wow. It all has happened at the same time. Conference, Easter Sunday and spring break. Since we leave in the morning to Moab for spring break we have decided to focus on Easter at family night next Monday after spring break is over. We can have our little Easter lesson then. Grandma Nola and Ronald are doing their Easter party April 21st so I think we will dye eggs then for that party. I am glad they pushed it back. Too much going this weekend. As for conference, the Easter bunny did well and for today the kids can do the books they got, bubbles and jumprope to help entertain them. We will be listening to conference all day for sure!!!! We get two new apostles today.

Carter’s Kindergym

Today was carter’s last day at Kindergym here in Mendon. It is taught by Trina Apediale. She does a good job with a small class and it’s affordable. He did amazing!

Easter Outfits

Since Easter is on April 1st this year and it is General Conference the kids are wearing their Easter outfits today and hopefully many more Sundays. We spent a solid 3 minutes outside taking pictures while I just snapped and snapped photots. Half the pictures I took had a cat or dog in them and the rest, well, they were normal kids. HA! I was going to just pick the one that turned out the best but I decided the real life photos and struggle are the memorable ones so I am posting them.

So Happy Easter next week. I know I will post about our egg hunt and all. We plan to go to Moab for Spring Break so I will be busy getting us all ready for that. I am praying it is sunshine and roses down south! We need the warmth.

Dates for March

This month we have been doing our weekly dates. We have one more to go next week but so far I have to say this “cheap or free” date book I gave for valentines was a great idea. It gives us something to look forward to that doesn’t cost a ton of money but is still getting out.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? 400 exactly, yes it’s true!

A long walk around the temple talking to my best friend then we grabbed a lemon bar to share from Applespice. We ran into Kaylee and Bryce Roholt and three boys while we were there. We love them! That was a nice surprise!

Cleaning Out

I’ve made it a habit that each season around spring break and fall break I go through my own closet at the same time I switch out the kids clothes. It’s kept me in the minimalist mindset. If I haven’t worn it in a year or I look at it in my closet every day and debate wearing the item but choose something else instead because of how it fits or how self conscious I’d be in it, then out it goes!

It is refreshing!

I don’t shop a lot. Our money is spent other places like kids sports and medical expenses but when I do it’s at Ross or thrift stores. I rarely spend more than $10 on an item because I just know I can always find a better deal. Today I visited Ross and got an Easter outfit for myself, I honestly can’t remember the last time I did that. I also grabbed two new shirts that will be fun for spring and summer and don’t need an undershirt. Yeah for modest!

Then I took time to switch my winter and fall items into the spare bedroom closet and bring my spring and summer stuff into my closet. Since Adam and I share one closet the space is tight so I switch things over to help with room. During the process I got rid of anything I haven’t worn for awhile or that is just too small even after I have lost my weight. I am currently 137 lbs and so happy I am. I am maintaining pretty well actually, I still do weight watchers but I don’t track religiously. I am just in a habit of eating good and then still letting myself have treats here and there cause I love sweets!!!! Anyway, back on topic, I filled a whole big trash back that I am sending the the neighbors who have lots of girls.

It was a perfect naptime project for today. I enjoy Fridays when I don’t work and I can get house stuff done. This weekend I will get the kids stuff moved over. Time for long sleeves to be boxed up. It’s been raining for days now and we will spend spring break in Moab. Here comes the sun!

Pinewood Derby

Dayton had his first pinewood derby race in scouts! He built his car all on his own, with very little help from Dad. He rocked it! He didn’t win but he certainly wasn’t in last place. Adam was adamant that Dayton do the work and learn. Dayton had a great time and got an award for Flaming Farts. He laughed and laughed about it! The whole family went to watch and it was fun to go together. Way to go buddy!

One on one time with vivie

Today I wasn’t feeling great and Vivian wasn’t too. So I skipped teaching preschool and cancelled her sitter so we could hang at home together. It was much needed one on one time with my baby. I didn’t sleep, like I so badly wanted, but it was worth it. Darn daylight savings! I sure love you Vivian!

Sunday Mormon Messages

Today I found all the kids snuggled with Dad in bed watching Mormon message videos. It was a sight to see! Warmed my heart! What a good Dad! Look at these beautiful babies!

Adam is 33!

We reinacted the famous farm photo with Adam's birthday gifts from me. HA!
Man and woman with stern expession stand side-by-side. The man holds a pitch fork and wears glasses.

We had a small party for Dayton and Adam together on the 8th. Sue, Davee and Trudy came to spoil them.

Dayton got a scout shirt from Grandma and Pa Day. Grandma even put on his patches. She also got him an art set.

Dayton got one more present from Mom and Dad, goalie gloves.

Of course I had to post another picture of our puppy. We named him Koda. He is Adam's birthday gift! He is a cute giant!

Baby who won’t sleep!

Vivian hasn’t been sleeping, at all. Ugh! I don’t if it’s teeth or what but my word, it’s exhausting! So I have been driving with her, a lot, lately. This is the mom life. Oh it’s funny the things you will do to get a grumpy baby to nap.
