We are a happy family!

Lately we have been spending lots of time with family. It has been so fun! Here are some pictures that are worth talking about. :)

A week ago we had our Chandler family dinner at Josh and Janae's house. Dayton and Evelyn are getting so cute with each other. They played on the tramp together for about 30 minutes. At one point I looked out there and they were jumping holding hands and then falling down on the tramp. It was so cute! Oh, another time they were walking on the mat around the edges just following each other around in a circle. They really have fun together. Evelyn is so much smaller than Dayton, she weighs 10 lbs. less, so sometimes we have to remind D to be careful with her but he really does love her.

While at the family dinner the kids played with a witches hat. Grandma Sue was carrying Dayton around on her shoulders and chasing Ainslie (age 4) around the house. Dayton was giggling and smiling the whole time. He thought that was pretty funny! What a fun Grandma!

On Friday I caught Dayton being creative with his play. I am seeing stuff like this more and more often. He was riding his dog costume around the house. He was even saying "wide, wide" as he sat on his costume and scooted around the living room. I thought that was so creative of him. Then he sat on him, as seen in pic below, and watched 101 Dalmatians. Have I mentioned that 101 Dalmatians is probably his favorite show? He LOVES it! I let him choose a movie to watch after his nap every day and he almost always chooses the "doggy show." Winnie the Pooh is also a BIG hit right now. He knows all the characters and can say their names.

The last shots are of D snuggling with uncle Nate. He sure does love his Uncles. We are so excited for Uncle Jared to come home in a month and a half. However, we will really miss Uncle Joe who is going to Argentina in a month. Anyway, Nate was snuggling D in his sweater the other night when we were over and Dayton had a bad diaper rash so he WAS NOT happy. Poor kid! Uncle Nate made everything better! What a great guy! I really like that D knows and loves my brothers.

Happy Halloween today! We have big plans with Grandma Sue, the Day family, and Lee's marketplace. Hopefully it is a fun day!

Quick Baby Update

I had my 35 week check up yesterday and Dr. Noorda checked me. I am dilating and 50% effaced!!!! Yeah! I am almost 1 cm he said, which is obviously small progress, but I am happy! I didn't dilate with D until 38 weeks so I am pleased. I hope this means an easier and quicker process this time. :) He also squished around and felt my belly. It kinda hurt as he was really pushing and feeling to check if she was head down. He wasn't sure so he brought the ultrasound machine in quickly to check. I joked, "Oh, so her head is so small you can't tell where it is?" He said sarcastically, "Ya, so small, like a grape." I do love that my doctor jokes with me. Anyway, she is head down but her head is a little to the left of my belly so she isn't really in the "nook" yet. Hopefully she moves so that her head pushing will really help me dilate. However, that is exactly how Dayton was positioned too. In fact the last 3 or so weeks you could see where Dayton's body was laying inside my belly because I was so big as was he and he was all on the right side with his head slightly to the left. I guess that is just how they have to fit in there since I have a short body cavity. Who knows? Anyway, I was happy to hear that I was progressing. Other than that everything looks good! We will keep you posted.

Preschool Party

This is Dayton in his doggy costume. Isn't he darling! He likes it a lot! He knows he is a doggie and says, "woof woof" too. I think he will have fun trick or treating this year. He got to wear his costume early for our preschool party this Thursday. He thought that was fun!

This past week we had our preschool party for Halloween! The kids had so much fun! We got to watch a pumpkin movie and all the kids got to bring a treat to share. It was a great easy day! I have really enjoyed teaching preschool. It is just the right amount of teaching for me right now and fits into my schedule nicely. Yes, I only have 5 kids plus Dayton but it makes it so they all get lots of one on one time, which is nice. They are sweet hearts!

Funny Boy

Dayton is a charmer! He loves to play with shoes. He has loved it since he was about one year old. Now he is getting more daring and actually trying on and walking in my heels. It is so funny! We sure love him and the joy he brings to our family.

Also just today he slept in until 8am so we had the chance to peek in on him and see him sleeping like this...

Adam and I were both pretty wiggly sleepers when we were little so he is definitely our kid!

Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins!

We went to the pumpkin walk last weekend with my family and the Carpenter's who are life long friends of ours. It was cool as always! Dayton loved the Winnie the Pooh display. He was so busy looking at it I couldn't get a picture with him looking at me. :) I also like the picture of Mom and Peggy. It was fun and surprisingly not that cold.

We also carved pumpkins Monday night for FHE! It was fun teaching Dayton to do it. By the end when we took them outside and lit them up he understood. He wasn't too sure about the whole squishy mess in the first place though. Please don't mind that I look like a pumpkin sporting the beautiful LARGE orange shirt, I'm pregnant that's for sure. I do have to say that I think Adam's two face pumpkin turned out super neat! Dayton's has shapes and mine is a USU design. Yeah for Halloween!

I also need to write about our pumpkin selling success! We grew 33 pumpkins this year, kept 5 of them, and sold the rest. We just put them out in our front yard with a sign and a jar for money and they ALL sold. We made $70 from pumpkins and it is all for Dayton's mission fund. We decided as he gets older this is something he can do, even when he is 3, to earn money for his mission. We were excited it was successful!

35 weeks and counting...

Here is my belly a day shy of 35 weeks. I am feeling bigger and bigger by the day! I think if my belly button stretches any more it might rip, I have heard of that by the way. We are just waiting for our sweet girl to arrive! We can't wait to meet her. Hopefully all goes well and I start dilating within the next couple of week. I'd love to have her here, well we all would! I am feeling fine just super super tired and the swelling has begun. Just within the last week or so my legs and feet have started to swell. Hopefully it's minimal compared to with Dayton. Also, the relief society sisters in my ward are SO KIND! They put a long list in my mailbox of all the women who are going to bring us meals every Tuesday and Thursday until the week before Thanksgiving! Ya, that is a whole month! I cried when I got the list because I was overwhelmed by their willingness to serve and I guess I didn't realize what a BIG help it'd be. So far it has been awesome! Thank you sisters! I'll keep you posted on my upcoming appointments.

Great grandparents are the best!

I will be posting some awesome pictures I got this past Saturday while visiting my Grandparents below. I just have to say that Dayton loves them and knows who they are. Partly due to their picture on my wall and my Grandparents are very involved in our lives and always have been. I don't think they have ever missed a birthday party, graduation, or wedding for any of their grandkids. They are just as sweet with the great grandkids! They are an example of faith, hard work, love, and compromise. I love them dearly! This past weekend they took us to feed the ducks! Boy oh boy did Dayton like this! My grandpa probably enjoyed it just as much! :) He was cute to worry about D's fingers getting nipped and him getting too close to the water though. Grandma just watched with a big smile! She is so darling! We had a good time with them. I especially love some of the pictures.

Also gpa gave Dayton a piggy bank that he made. D was thrilled about it! Grandpa showed him how to put coins in it and he let him keep the change too. The whole ride home Dayton wanted to hold his pig and was upset he couldn't. Sweet!

Nicklecade

This past Saturday was D's first time at the Nicklecade. This was a favorite place for us to go as kids. Dayton LOVED it! He rode every kid ride they had at least once and some like the car and horse multiple times. He even played Skeeball with my Dad and loved that. He was litterally throwing the balls up the ramp, trying to do as Grandpa did. Then he got to use his tickets to buy some tootie frooties. So fun!

Dad tried to teach Dayton the whole process. I'm not sure he connected the dots but he had a blast with Grandpa.

Put the coin in!

Push the start button!

Get the balls!

Roll/throw the balls!

Use the tickets to buy a treat!

All the kid rides he spent an hour on!

After the Nicklecade we got Subway and had lunch at a park. Uncle Joe and Nate played with Dayton at the park. It was a beautiful day too! Good times with family for sure!
After the park we went to visit Ronola, my Grandparents, in Roy. They loved the visit and I will post some great pictures later.

Family Fun

This past Saturday we decided to have some family fun in the nice weather. We went to the Willow Park zoo and park for the afternoon. Dayton loved all the animals and he especially loved the big red slide. I was surprised he liked it because he normally doesn't like tube slides. He did well on it and went multiple times. He also fed the ducks! He liked this a lot! It was so nice to just be together. I apologize the pictures are mixed up, but you get the idea. :)
