Things about Dayton, 8 months!

Dayton can...
walk holding onto things with only one hand.
stand up by himself for about 10 seconds before he gets scared and realizes no one is holding him, then he cries.
army crawl when he is motivated by cherrios (a favorite, Mom, or a fun toy.
jump for 30 plus minutes in his bouncing chair we borrowed from the Stokes' so thank you Steve and Christa.
he can wave on purpose to people when they leave or come.
feed himself bananas, crackers, or cherrios in his high chair.
talk or babble and say things including blah blah, mama (not intentionally), and dada ( not intentionally.
dance to music and love listening to music. He bounces to the beat extremely well!
give hugs on purpose! He loves to snuggle and squeeze tight!

WE love him so much! He is our whole world! He is getting to be so big and fun! This age is so great! We love watching him explore his body and learn new things.I can't believe he is 8 months old. I think he will be crawling by Thanksgiving and walking by Christmas. I guess we will see.

Halloween and pumpkin walk!

We had an awesome Halloween together! We spent the day sleeping in and Dayton and I took some good naps. Then we made lots of Halloween treats as shown below and Mama Sue's wassil, yum! We carved pumpkins, went trick or treating only to 3 houses with Dayton and got to see all of the cute kids come to our door too. At 8pm we went to my parents and helped in the spook alley they had set up in the front yard. Dayton got an hour nap from 7-8pm so he was able to stay up til 11pm without loosing it. :) Crazy! WE LOVE HALLOWEEN!!! (We went to the pumpkin walk about a week ago but some of those pictures are included in the post.) Enjoy the picture overload!

UEA break

Last weekend we went down to St. George for fun over UEA. It was so warm 80's and up! We loved just hanging out at Dad's with Raven, Jess, and Seth. We did a lot of nothing which was so nice! We were down there for three days.

Friday we went to the park and had a picnic lunch. We also played on the playground which I thought would be more fun for Dayton than it actually was. Oh well I guess he will grow into swings and slides right? Later that night I made lots of jewlwery with Raven and a few other ladies that came over. I made two watch bands, two necklaces and all of them have matching earings. I had a BLAST!

The next day we slept in and watched a movie. We got up and moving around 11 and headed to the outlet stores where Adam bought me two pairs of pants. They had a killer deal at Levi they were both $7 and way way way cuter than any I have now. Thank you hunny for being so thoughtful. That night we spent visiting with the family and we made chocolate balls for them as well. Yummy!

Sunday Dad (Davee) got home and we went to church with everyone. We came home after sacrament so we could get some visiting time in with Dad. Davee also printed some photos for us of our new family pictures. It was so nice of him to do that. It saves us lots of money plus he has quality printer as opposed to Sam's Club which is where we would have gone. Overall Dayton did well on the drive and we had a blast together just getting away. Side note: Dayton loved their dog Cookie Dough. She is a shitzu and so cute! He kept grabbing her tail and trying to stick it in his mouth. :)

P.S. I know I am a week behind. Life is a bit overwhelming right now.

It's Autumn!!!

I couldn't resist taking some pictures of Dayton with our beautiful pumpkins we grew this year. He loved playing with them too. He is 7 months and is more a little person than a baby every day. We decorated the porch with cornstalks and pumpkins the other night. We still have some decor to get up but we are excited for Halloween. Dayton is going to be a lion, raaaarrrrr! We even have the candy bought, yeah!

ALSO...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER, JARED!!!
Or affectionatly known as BUBA!
We love you Jared and miss you! We know that you are blessing many lives in Chile! Keep up the good work!

I need a time out!

I need a time out from...
being a teacher,
a Mom,
a wife,
a housekeeper, or maybe just
being a living human being all together.

I need a break! It seems I am always tired, worn, running around with my head chopped off, doing a dozen things half decent instead of a couple things really extraordinary. I like to be extraordinary and I guess lately I'm just not up to par.

Usually I come home so worn out all I have energy to do is walk to the mailbox to get the mail with Dayton, play with Dayton for about an hour sometimes two before I have to take a nap. Maybe, maybe, maybe on a good day I get dinner made. I mean really make dinner other than leftovers or cold cereal. It's not so much that I don't make dinner that is the let down it's that I don't have energy or the gumption to even play with Dayton or any energy left for Adam at the end of the day. I am just wasted! Dayton wakes at least twice a night now and I have to be up at 6am and out of the door by 7:10am. I am NOT making it! Whatever it is to make, life, I guess.

At school things are pouring out my ears with so many new things (assessments etc.) and all the budget cuts means no aides to help us. It is so frustrating that I see so many kids that need help because they have no support at home. I know what I need to do but don't have the time or man power to make those interventions happen. I am a teacher that cares, maybe too much, but it makes me sick to see these poor kids just left in the dust, many with no parental support at home. It's upsetting!

The house is a mess, but that is the least of my worries.

Dayton is growing! He is missing me so much, I know. When I come home he just wants to be snuggled and held. He needs his Mom! I just want to quit my job, not that I will but I feel like it! My baby needs me more than I need my job.

My brain, body, spirit, emotions, me, myself, and I just need a TIME OUT!

Since I'm 22 I should be able to sit in the time out chair for 22 hours until I get to come out. Right? Anyone else out there feeling anything like me? If not, GREAT FOR YOU, but please don't tell me, for today!

Thanks for listening...

the wave

This cutie pie can wave! Check this video out!

Harvesting!

This past weekend we enjoyed picking all of our jalepenos, green peppers, and watermelons. Adam was so excited about the watermellon, which was so yummy, that we took a video of the picking. Mom also came and picked another bushel of tomatoes, maybe more. It is crazy that it is October and we still have tomatoes rippening! We have hundreds of green ones on the vines still too. We are going to pick some and put them in the basement to ripen but we can't use all of them so if anyone wants some let us know.

Beautiful boy and husband!
