Dayton funnies

1. Dayton said to Mom before bed,  "I love Ms. Traci. She is my friend, she loves me. She loves me even more than you do."
I tried to convince him I loved him more.
D: "No Mom, Ms. Traci does......(pause).... As a friend."

I think he misses school and his teacher. He might cry when he really understands he doesn't have Traci next year.

2. While driving in the car he randomly states, "Mom and Dad you know what?"
Adam: "What buddy?"
"It's so hard being a teenager!" And then have a big sigh....

3. During our pillow talk D said, "Jack (from preschool) is my good friend because he does not say potty words."
Me: "Good buddy I'm glad jack makes good choices, he is a good friend."

4. "Our trailer is our house, so I call it home, but it is our trailer. Right?"

Poor guy is a bit confused by this whole situation isn't he? I do have to say it doesn't seem to bother him, he thinks it's a blast.

5. D: "My favorite color is all the boy colors."
Me: "What is your very favorite? If you could only pick one."
D: "Sssssssilver! Because it's shiny, shiny, shiny, shiny, shiny!"

Paid off!

Sweet freedom!
That is really how I feel today!
While Adam had access to a computer after work he paid off all of these items...
Sue-who lent us money for listing our home $1250
Carter's medical bills- $905.70
Smoke alarms-fancy high tech ones that work but we should have never gotten a loan on (let's just say the guy had a good pitch) $2148
Truck- $9,958.02 all paid off
Van- $1950.35 all paid off
Fed loans-$9686.13 all paid off (we have had these for 4 years since Dayton was born)
Uhhea- $7,030.38 we paid off three loans and we have two small ones left we plan to pay next month.

I feel so blessed right now!
What is listed above is so much money! Money it would have taken us 6-8 years to pay back with normal monthly payments with as tight as our budget was the past two years.
This makes me want to live in the trailer for a year....jk! We are on a roll! I'm glad I have a husband who supports our family and believes in following the prophet. He said, "get out of debt," and we apparently have gone to great lengths to do so.

We are still homeless but I know in good time the home we are supposed to be in will come along. Faith, we are needing great faith right now. I hope, I know, I will look back on this "trial" and see great blessings and that understanding will come when it is over.

Trailer Trash

We are officially "trailer trash." It actually hasn't been bad living here. I've discovered I'm out and about most of my day anyway.

We get to play with Legos outside.

 Sit under this tree.
Ride bikes, a lot! Check out D's new big one.
And sleep in this beauty!
And bathe in this tub! Every night it's bath time here. The kids get plenty dirty playing all day.
And afternoons filled with board games!

More adventures to come!

Schwinn

So today I got this "new" Schwinn double jogging stroller with a swivel wheel and fully loaded with snack trays, large sun shades, cup holders, and even a plug for earphones while running. I got a screaming deal!!! These normally sell for $360-$400 new. I paid $140 and it's in great shape. Woot! It maneuvers SO much better than my crappy old one I got at a yard sale for $20. I sold my old one for $40 today so I really only had to dish out $100. I'm happy!

Our 24th weekend!

Mendon Days! Kids did the bunny chase! Rach caught one and D did not. They also raced inside the baseball diamond. They both got medals. Rach 2nd in her age group and Dayton was 5th (he got headed the wrong direction or he would have been 2nd or 3rd) we are proud parents!

Then we went to the Apolonie family reunion. That's my great grandma's reunion. My grandmother Evelyn Mildred's maiden name was Apolonie. My dad and his siblings were in charge this year. Which meant it was awesome with kid games, scavenger hunts, and bingo! Yeah! Plus the park had an awesome splash pad which I did not get pictured but the kiddos loved. The kids slept the whole ride home, they were worn out.

Later that night we headed back to Mendon for fireworks! A great way to end the night.

Today is the day!

Carter cut his first tooth. He is almost 9 months, earliest of all our kids. He has been sad and whiny. Today my Mom got him oragel and teething tablets to help. Thanks mom! My baby is growing up!

Closing tomorrow...

AT 9am tomorrow we will close on our Hyde Park home.

In a way, I am sad.

Many memories were made here.

On the other hand, I am happy, filled with joy! Grateful!

When we get the equity check from this home Adam and I will be paying off ALL of our student loans, his truck, and what little we owe on the van. We will be paying off SO much debt!

That brings me joy, relief, peace.

We are following the prophet and I know we will be blessed.

So goodbye Hyde Park, hello simpler, almost 100% debt free life.

Yipee!

This is getting real...

Our house is just about empty.
Upstairs done. Only thing left is mattresses on floor, crib, and computer. It has taken Adam and I about two weeks of packing every night after kids are in bed to get this done.

Kitchen, done! Wow this was hard. Thanks to my mom and dad who came for 45 minutes and packed it with us. Two more working adults made a huge difference! Then they took the kids to the parade, store, and lunch. We couldn't have done it without them.

Garage, done. We took down all the shelving and set it up in the storage unit to utilize space better. This past week we have made 3 or 4 trips over with outdoor stuff to put in the smaller unit. I rented two units so the outdoor stuff could go in one and our furniture and house stuff in another. It is working out lovely.

Master closets empty. Master bedroom empty, except bed. Front room empty, except china hutch. Entry and closet done. Family room almost done, rocking chairs for the kids along with movies and tv are left.

Still to do...
Master bathroom
Take my wedding dress to cleaners and then my moms.
Take down our bed, pack mattresses.
Move dogs out to Kaia's yard in Mendon. She was nice enough to let us put them there for a month or two.
Move BBQ grill.
Load crib.
Load single box of kid clothes into trailer.
Move fridge.
Pack a few do-da items left in family room.

Clean the house! I'm hoping my relief society will help me with this Friday morning.

We close Wednesday at 9am. This is getting real!

Summer kids club

I started a summer kids club for the summer. Two weeks ago we toured the fire station. It was fun and the kids loved it! Fireman Justin told me I still hold the record for bringing the most kids to the fire station. Score!

What are big brothers for?

To put butterfly clips in your hair, of course!
Yes, in a line...
Random colors.

He asked Rachel so nicely if he could do it. She said, "Hmmm.... sure!" Dayton promptly jumped right up and was a very good hair stylist.

My heart melted today when I watched this. Dayton has a tender heart, it is one of his best qualities. How I love him!

How I love them both!
They are my everything!
