Need a good chuckle? Watch this!
Dayton is such a smarty pants! He is even good at building towers with blocks, knocking them down, and well screaming when it falls over. Oh, and yes he is wearing his Sunday shoes in this movie. He is really into shoes lately he likes to carry shoes around the house and put them on my feel. He found his shoes and brought them to me so that I would put them on his feet. So, although he is wearing a t-shirt and athletic type pants, I put them on him.
Happiness
The past couple of days it has finally stopped pouring rain or snowing so we have been outside. You can just see pure happiness on Dayton's face! He loves being outside and just yesterday was his first time on a swing. For a couple of months now when I say we we are going to go he will get his jacket and stand by the door. The other day I said, "We are going outside Dayton." He pointed to the door and said, "au side?" It was clear as day and so so so cute! He is talking more and more each day. Some new things he has said lately are oh no, uh oh, au-side, ba ba, and daa for dog.

Sunday ABC's
Thank you to my awesome friend who emailed me this idea for church. I have to admit that Sunday's are so so so hard right now. I think 1 year until 18 month old is such a rough time at church. The kid can walk and wants to play but they don't comprehend that they need to sit still and be reverent. Well, in all honesty any child younger than 8 years old struggles, especially at 11-2 and 1-4 o'clock church. Why oh why do they schedule church over lunch and nap time???!?!??
Anyway I hope this will help Dayton a bit or at least for one Sunday. It was so easy I just printed these as 4x6 pictures and put them in a $1 photo album. Neat!

Slackin...
This past week I have been slackin! I have decided to chill with the weight watchers a bit. I am still eating very healthy but it was causing some major stress at our house to afford that much fresh food throughout the whole month. So, it simply isn't worth adding the financial stress to our budget right now. Tending kids has added cost to our grocery budget, feeding two dogs has added to the budget, and WW was just putting us over the top. Just for the record, I am not giving up! I am still being conscious of what I eat and the portion size. I am also still working out everyday (last week I slacked a bit, oops)work out video or long walks every day. I am feeling better than I have in awhile and that is a good sign!
New addition to our dining room this past week. This bookcase was made by Adam's great grandfather and it is beautiful! The china is from my parents. They bought this 12 piece set from Germany for me at our wedding. It is also inlaid with real gold. It is beautiful! I can't wait to use it this Thanksgiving! We love having this family heirloom in our home.

FUNNY- FUNNY- FUNNY
Funny Number ONE
Adam hates band aides. He hates them so so so much that he cringes when I use one and even said that we are NEVER introducing Dayton to them. According to him if we don't tell him what a band aide is he will never want one, good luck with that one. :)
Well the other day we were enjoying cookies and milk and Adam saw something floating in his milk. He thought it was a chunk of cookie. I went to fish it out with a spoon and got a band aide. Adam proceeded to throw a fit, gagging, and grossing out on the kitchen floor while I about peed my pants laughing so hard. He refused to even touch the milk after that. Well, I wasn't going to let a good glass of milk go to waste so I enjoyed it. Plus, I knew it was my band aide that I simply put on my cracking finger because of this dry dry winter air. It was safe, no blood or goo.

Funny Number TWO
I didn't want to turn on the oven to bake the cookies so I asked Adam to cook it in the microwave. By the way I do this all the time and it totally works! Well, he made two mistakes; one he used a plastic plate, two he made a small cookie and cooked it for 2 minutes. This was the result!

Funny Number THREE
Dayton LOVES his Daddy! He especially loves when Dad plays with him. This past Saturday they found the dress up stuff. Aren't they so cute?

Sometimes OR all the time in this stressful life it is good to laugh! :) Find joy in the simple things!

Discovery Gateway
Last weekend we got to go down to Mama Sue's house. On our way down to spend the weekend we stopped at the Children's Museum and played. All I can say is Dayton had a blast! I think Sue loved it too! It was crazy busy but totally worth it! I am telling you Dayton would have been completely content to stay there all day long. I took about 50 pictures but will just post the cutest ones. They had all sorts of awesome toys and set ups. It made me excited about children, learning, and kids development all over again. I guess it brought out the teacher in me. Thank you Sue for going with us, it was fun to have Grandma along!
Note: At this age Dayton loves to put things in a bowl, bucket, basket or anything of the like and then carry it around and empty all it's contents out. Notice what he was doing with the chickens and the balls. :)

We will miss you Grandma!
This past Sunday Adam's Grandma Chandler passed away. She had a stroke and was in a coma for a week. She also had some Alzheimer problems so it is a good thing that she returned to heaven. Her funeral was yesterday and all the grandkids got to sing I love to see the Temple. Davee talked and shared how he gained a testimony from his mother. It was a peaceful ending of her life. We love you Grandma, you will be missed.

1 year older and wiser too...

Dayton had his 1 year old checkup today. He got 6 shots, GRRR, 3 in each leg. I think at 18 months I will get 2 at a time and go a month apart for them. I personally think it is too much for a little baby/toddler. Anyway here are the stats...
Weight:25 1/2 lbs.=78%
Height:77.5 cm= 68%
Head Circumference:51cm= 100% (No, we don't wonder why I had such a hard time getting him out.)
Doctor Firth said that he is SMART! He is very advanced and big. He gave us floride for his teeth and said start weening him from his binki soon.
Congrats to Nate!
My brother Nate is running for Exec at Sky View High and made the primary election after his skit. There are a few pictures below of the skit. Look on YouTube for silent monk's if you want a better idea of what he did. The kids is the auditorium were screaming so loud for him, it was awesome.

He is running for a member of the exec and there are 4 people who make it as a member. This week he will be busy making posters and a movie and the final elections are at the end of the week, I think. I will be helping him today by filming his movie. I know Nate would be so great on exec and we are all really hoping it works out for him. :)

Still going strong...
except for yesterday when the box of Samoa girl scout cookies got the better of me. :) But, that is okay because overall I have been eating much healthier.
For the record, today...
B: a bowl of honey bunches of oats= 6 pts.
L: salad w/ ceasar dressing, grilled chicken, carrots, tomatoes, and olives= 7 pts.
S: small brownie w/cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries and kiwi on top= 6 pts.
D: omlet w/salsa on top and 1 piece of whole wheat toast= 8 pts.
Treat: bowl of fresh strawberries in 1/2 C milk and sugar sprinkled on top= 2 pts.
Total: 29pts.
Also, I was only doing the 30 day shred video, which I love, but I recently decided to change it up a bit. I have to switch it up or I get bored and stop working out. So although I was supposed to do it for 30 days I think I only made it 19 but hey, that is great I think! Oh, and I also was on level 2 and can do everything on that level. :) Way way way better than I was doing before. Anyway, I am going to start doing my Yoga Booty video, hip hop abs, and 30 day shred just a different one each day. Today I did yoga booty and WOW it really worked my bum. :) Which is exciting for me because the lower half of my body is what i really don't like the size of.
So cheer's to keeping it up!

A picture is worth a thousand words!
So how many words are dozens of pictures worth?
It is amazing how I think I have nothing to blog about and then I scroll through my pictures on my phone and camera and find real treasures! Enjoy!
Two Words:
DIAPER RASH
This did help and it is FINALLY clearing up.

Some favorite things to play with lately! Highchair, keyboard, and the slide.

A new favorite treat to eat! And yes, he does know how to open the box and has figured out how to reach his grimey little hand all the way down in to get the cereal. Smarty pants!

Notice the curly hair! He loves sucking on the squirt bottle because he loves drinking water and I guess it is WAY more fun than a sippy cup.

He loves his Daddy and playing with Dad's stuff!
