First day back to school!

I love teaching! 25 kids, 8 less than last year, so nice! I seem to have kind students too, what a relief! I like my new principal Mr. Lee he is great with the kids. I love the other 5th grade teachers I work with and we are team teaching science so that cuts down my prep. So many good things are happening with school but it all seems so wrong when my babysitter texts me at lunch saying my baby boy hasn't stopped crying and she has tried everything. He misses his Mom, I think. The first day back was the first day I have really felt like a no good, terrible, loser of a Mom.

Things about Dayton!

He loves playing with anything that isn't a toy like water bottles, paper, pillows, etc.

He loves his walker and can even move on carpet with great effort!

He loves his Daddy!

His new favorite place to sit in the house is here.

He helps with the laundry!

He loves licorish. (I'm not sure on the spelling!)

He can stand up holding onto things.

I could go on and on! Dayton is such a charmer lately. His personality is really coming out. He is so bright! When we first put him on our new carpet, on a blanket, to avoid puke on the new carpet, he pulled his blanket to him so he could reach out and feel the carpet. He then looked around to his right and left and did the same thing. I am AMAZED at how much he notices. He knew it was different and he was totally checking it out. So fun!

He is also in a different sleeping pattern, just in time for school. Yeah! For the past 2-3 weeks he wakes up about once a night almost always. I think it might be teething but who really knows right? And for all of you out there that think I am a terrible Mother and run to his every whine and you might be saying, "Let him just scream it out." I want you to all know I have tried. Sometimes for over an hour and sometimes 30 minutes. It rarely works! I believe he is still little and just needs the comfort of his Mommy and I am okay with that. I just don't get why the change all of the sudden? I guess it's pretty typical for kids to do this though.

We sure love him! I am going to miss Dayton so much as of tomorrow when school starts again.

New!

I'm in love! This made our house look totally different and smell clean too! You are all invited to come roll on my floor and lay on my soft carpet!

Back to School Night!

It's about that time again, school time! Back to school night is tomorrow and I have about two dozen more things to do before then. It's funny what happens when you have a darling baby boy that occupies all your time. :)
The first day of school is Monday the 30th. So I am trying not to stress too much because I technically have a week to get all my lessons ready. I just need my room, class disclosure, and student folders/desks ready. So I am trying to keep cool! Adam came to school and helped me for over and hour tonight. On a side note he cut his thumb on the big paper cutter, no bueno, quite a bit of blood too. I stayed at school 4 hours past my contract time since all day I was in meetings. I picked up Dayton at 3:00 and he got to be with me at school for 4 hours. He did so so so so (not enough so's) well! Love him!
Thursday I am getting wood floors in place of my blue lanolium and blue carpet in the dining room. WAHOOO! Friday I am getting new carpet in all of the upstairs. DOUBLE WAHOO!! So keep updated on the blog for before and after pics!
Wish me luck tomorrow!

Christmas in August!

Mama Sue decided instead of just giving us money for Christmas she would give us a set amount of money to spend, through her, by Christmas. She didn't want all of us kids spending the money on bills etc. she wanted us to get something fun or that we really wanted so we did! We still have a bit of money left but we are loving Christmas so far. Our table came with two leafs and 8 chairs $200 and Adam's suit with 2 pants from Mr. Mac for $200 and 21 articles of clothing for Dayton since we didn't really have anything over 12 month age for $60. Sweet deals right?
THANK YOU MAMA SUE!!!

Our Awesome Garden!

Isn't it beautiful! We are thrilled that things are actually growing. Minus the grasshoppers and the tomatoe caterpillars we have had great success. This is our very first garden so it has been a learning experience especially with the wind in Mendon and the weeds. It has been fun for us though! I can't wait til my Mom teaches me to do salsa.I am also hoping that watermellon is as yummy as it looks.Dayton loves to hold the tomatoes, I guess they are just like red balls huh?

Bear Lake Saturday, August 14!

I know that every mother thinks her child is the cutest thing on earth because it's her child. Well I think that because it's true!

We went to Bear Lake with my family after camping and had a blast. We rented wave runners, which I love! Sorry no pictures of that. My Mom thought the picture button was the movie button and so she filmed water, love you Mom!

Dayton loved being in the water. He sat in the shallow water, icy cold, and grinned ear to ear. He tried to eat the sand and loves watching the ripples. After the lake we got famous raspberry shakes and hot fries, yum! Thanks Mom and Dad!

The best thing about camping is a dirty face!

This past weekend we went with the Day family to Bear Lake and stayed up the canyon as we do every year since we were kids. We had so much fun together and everyone was there except Jared, of course.

Pictures do say a million words so I won't write too much. Notice Dayton's dirty nose in the third picture. That is because Grandpa Day decided he needed a dirty face, since that is part of camping, and he rubbed charcoal on his nose. THAT GRANDPA!!! We had foil dinners and enjoyed eachothers company. The boys loved Dayton as always and he loved them. Enjoy all the pictures!
