Dayton hustles

I don't say this just because he is our son , really he is the best player on his team. He runs hard, he actually kicks the ball far, every game (but one so far) he has scored a goal. Their team is young, most of them just turned 5 years old. The way this group does it is they mix 5 and 6 year olds. So they usually play with boys that are 6 year olds some almost 7. Those older 6 year olds are much bigger than our team. So, we have yet to win a game, which is fine at this age. I just want D to get out and do something physical and see if he likes it, which come to find out, he loves soccer!

Anyway, today I was so proud of him! He is improving in skill each game. He is the only player that will break for the ball on kick ins, the only one who scores (almost every game), understands to kick the ball away from other team, runs hard, and is fast! I'm so proud of him!

Here he is cheering with his Wild Dragon team! Half way done with the season.

Funny things by Rachel!

She picked her nose and got blood on her finger. She said to me, "oh no! Blood, blood, blood! On my singer (finger). I don't  like blood it is gross."
Me, "Well what do you like?"
Rach, "Just normal buggers."
Me, "Oh really? What do you like to do with normal buggers?"
Rach, "Eat them!"

Ha ha ha!
I about died laughing.

She writes!

Today all on her own, no promptings from me, Rachel practiced her name over and over. It was her activity of choice for quiet time before nap. Really she is so special. Determined, strong, and very good with arts and having a long attention span. She loves organization and likes things just so. She will be the teenager with the clean bedroom. I hope. Anyway, check out her work.

He folds his arms and more...

Our baby knows how to pray! Well, what to do during a prayer. It is absolutely adorable!!!

Also in the news, new words!!!!
Mama and Dadda (he has said for awhile)
Ball
"Daw" Dog
Woof woof
"Maw" more
Uh oh
"Naw naw" night night

He also shakes his head "no" when you ask him a question or he will smile and follow you for a "yes."

Carter is growing up! Almost 18 months and going to nursery early! He has gone at about 15 months because of the callings Adam and I have. He likes it, exept the mean girl the pushes and bites him. 😭 Oh, nursery is a challenge. Sharing is hard! More cuteness from our baby!

Love Birds

The kids took pictures of us this morning! I'm glad because we rarely get in photos since they are mostly just the kids. I love you Adam!

Soccer

Today was Daytons first soccer game! He just turned 5 so many of the boys are older than him or his grade but born in fall so taller with longer legs. He was the fastest small guy, hussled, kicked in a lot, and was a good sport too! I am so proud! He also scored their very first goal and right afte it ran the whole field by himself and right before he made a goal one of those 6 almost 7 year olds clobbered him to the ground trying to get the ball. Ya... His team didn't have any big kids, but the other team did. I guess that's what you get when you combine 5-6 year olds. Some just barely 5 and others almost 7. Anyway, it was way fun to watch him and cheer him on. Too Bad Adam missed it! Dayton really did LOVE playing. I think sports will be his "thing" we will see.

Note: This boy is more competitive than I thought. I gave him a good talk about being a good sport before we went. Their team lost 2 to 5. He didn't say a word about it after the game and was very cheerful, the minute we were home it was a 20 minute conversation. I kept repeating how proud of him I am and that sometimes we win and sometimes we loose but he had fun and that is important. Honestly, I'm not sure he "bought it" he wanted to win. I reminded him maybe next game. 😊

When Dayton prays...

He blesses all the people in the WHOLE world.
He prays that the Ute Indians will have a good day.
He thanks Heavenly Father for our family and names every single person. Usually including Susan who isn't really part of our family (yet)
He thanks Heavenly Father that we can have righteousness (yes he uses that word.)
He is thankful for everything Heavenly Father and Jesus did for us.
And "I'm thankful in my heart that we didn't have a wickedness world." (Someone is listening to the scriptures.)
Bless the Indians on their small islands cause we have big islands. And I just don't want them to be grumpy.
And please bless that everybody will have a good day!

Oh the many many things this boy says! He makes us laugh everyday.

Planting some of the garden...

Tonight for FHE we planted onions, carrots and bush peas. We hope it gets them an earlier start. We never plant before May 1st. These three veggies are ok to plant earlier since they are under ground and do ok with a frost. The kids really enjoyed planting. D and R were great helpers and listened to directions very well. It is fun they are getting old enough to really help. Carter on the other hand, stepped on the plants. Ha ha ha!

Easter Morning

Easter bunny day was fun! The kids got new helmets and bikes. Rachel's Christmas bike had to be traded cause the pedals were on the front tire and too far for her to reach. She needed a different style so she could ride a bike, since she is 3 years old now, so we are glad the Easter bunny thought of that! Then they got a new church outfit, pinwheels, a book with a music cd, and candy. As usual the bunny made a big mess with the jelly beans for the kids to eat up. Happy Easter! May we all remember our Savior. He is risen!

Girls night!

During priesthood session this year Rach and I went to Twizelberry for frozen yogurt and while we waited we tried on sparkly shoes at the store next door. Rachel wanted to try on every pair of sparkly shoes. It was adorable! She is such a girl and I love it!

After trying on shoes we met up with all these lovely ladies. It was fun to have Susan with us too! Rachel loved being with the adults and had watermelon frozen yogurt with watermelon candies.

It was a good time together!

Spring break

This year we went to Sand Hallow Reservoir to camp, swim, and play on the beach for 3 days. Well, after day two it was windy and stormy so we hit the St. George Children's Museum and Temple instead, which was a great idea! Both were a hit. It took us a day to drive down, we stayed three days, and a day to drive home with a visit to the Aquarium in Sandy on the way to Logan to break up the drive. It was a good five days but definitely a trip not a relaxing vacation. :)

Now, here is a big picture over load of two day on the beach.

Grandma Sue and Aunt Breezy came on day 2 to surprise us. It was fun having them!
