Halloween is coming, to our town!

We enjoy Halloween! Not really the scary, gruesome, creepy part but the fun dressing up, yummy food parties, and seeing hundreds of kids at our door part!

I do have to say that it was fun to decorate our porch this year. Although it was not near what we dream it to be in the future it was better than it has been.

The kids both looked darling this year and Dayton chose his costume this time. He was very specific and said he wanted to be a green dragon. Don't worry though, his dragon is a nice dragon. Rachel was a lady bug and was so adorable. A big thanks to friends for letting us borrow both costumes.

We got to go to Lee's Marketplace to trick or treat. They always do such a great job hosting a trick or treating event. It was busy this year but the kids still liked it and I LOVED the root beer milk they handed out. My Grandma Evelyn used to make that for us when we would visit her. She was a nutrition teacher so that meant root beer milk had to be good for us right? My Mom is always such a fun Grandma and came with us, in a costume! She rocks!

While trick or treating Rachel was talking, well more like squealing the whole time and waving to everyone who was out and about. Dayton on the other hand went around one block in our neighborhood, came home tired, took off his costume and was content to be done. He had enough and was happy with his 15 or so treats in his bucket. Not a greedy kid or too small to understand the idea of more houses equals more candy. Right? After some down time at home we convinced him to go trick or treating with Uncle Jared in my Mom's neighborhood. He agreed if he didn't have to walk. I think he was tired to start with and walking a whole block for a little guy really added to it. So, Jared was a good sport and came with us in Mom's neighborhood for about an hour. Dayton liked that a lot but was still mellow. Pretty sure he is growing a lot right now, it wears him out. Rachel on the other hand was loud. So cute!

Adam and I dressed up too. I fit into my salsa dancer costume since I was not expecting this year. That was fun and Adam was Batman. He wore his costume to work and everyone thought it was great! We had fun together and now the kids are worn out and sound asleep.

So in no particular order here are many Halloween photos to enjoy!

A good Daddy!

Look at Dayton just waiting in line for his turn to have a belly blow. He is grinning while Rachel is squealing so loudly because apparently this is so fun! I love my family and hope my kids always remember their Dad was a good one!

Fun exploration Friday

This week for our fun exploration together we made cloud dough. It's like play dough but cooler! It is just made out of flour and baby oil. Dayton loved it and so did I. These pictures were taken at the beginning but by the end of an hour he needed a new outfit. It was that awesome!

Do you ever look at your kids and see your life in their eyes?

I do! And, my children ARE my life so I wouldn't have it any other way!

Look how big they are!
Look how they love each other!
Look at our family that Adam and I created! It's a miracle really!
Look at these beautiful babies!

I'm so grateful for my kids! Although they are my greatest challenge they are also my greatest blessing!

Mischief

Yes that is a great word for this age. Daily there is something like this going on at our house from D. Sometimes it is all I can do to choose to calmly clean up with Dayton after taking pictures. Especially when it is one mess after the other. This particular time he unrolled all the TP off a brand new roll, aka a lot of TP, dunked it in the toilet and then was splatting that TP on the tile. Then he decided to drag the rest of the roll around the house. Awesome.

We got chickens, again!

Thanks to ksl we got 8 laying hens, a coop, a run, and many extras for just $100 last Saturday. Now we are back to having fresh eggs, the smell of chicken poop in our yard, and the farmer feel! Dayton is in heaven! Oh, and Adam is too!

Pumpkin Walk

We went to the pumpkin walk with my parents this year. The weather was nice and the walk was fun and creative as always. I especially loved the Madagascar scene and the I Spy scene. Dayton was excited about the bull and wanted to ride it, sorry buddy. He really liked the puppet show they had there this year too. Rachel LOVED being out and about with the people. she waved to just about everyone. She was very happy and observant the whole time. The witch at the end was fun for Dayton but scary for Rach.
