Elder Day

Jared has been out for 6 months now and has baptized one person so far. He has 4 people that are ready to commit to a baptism date this week. He is working hard in Fortono, Chile and loves it there. He also said that he is being chased my a member there who is a middle aged lady. He says that she likes Gringo's and the missionaries call ladies like that dragons. Ha ha! I'll try to do better updating about Jared.

Ten reasons why I love this little man.

1. He is happy! (I tried this hat on him, obviously too small.) 2. He knows how to relax and be cool.

3. He puts up with me kissing his round cheeks all the time.

4. He works hard and is strong! (He can stand up against things if you put him there.)

5. He gets along swimmingly with others! 6. He lets me dress him up, gel his hair, and take lots of pictures of his handsome grin.

7. He likes to try new things. (Yes, he really sucks on this and gets water.)

8. He is easily entertained.

9. He is very expressive. I love the raised eyebrows.

10. He is curious about new things. (shoes)

He also laughs lots now especially when you do pat a cake, bounce him, peek a boo, or kiss his cheeks over and over really fast while making a ridiculous noise. I tried to upload a video clip but it's not working. Too bad because it is really cute.

Broken Pipe! (read the post entitled Yup first)

This is it! The hole is actually a good size. We ran the water for 3 hours and it spewed out of this hole into the laundry room ceiling and down 2 walls in the basement for that long. We ended up replacing half the pad in the family room, the insulation, and the bottom half of the sheetrock in the laundry room since it was so soaked. We also had fans on it for 5 days to dry it all out. We got it all done right in time for our renters to move in which was this weekend. Yup!

Our baby boy is...

4 months old!

He has grown so much!

His last checkup was this Friday and he weighed 17 lb. 5 oz. (89%) and was 25 inches long (52%) and his head circumference was 17.5 inches (95%).

Dr. Firth said he was very impressed with his physical ability. He said he was physically advanced! Dayton can sit up now for a couple minutes or more at a time. Dr. Firth said babies usually do that at about 6 months. He said that he thinks by 6 months Dayton will be scooting on his tummy by pushing his legs. He also said he might be walkiing early too because he is so strong. That is what every parent wants to hear!!!! Go buddy!

WE LOVE YOU DAYTON!

Drum Core International

This last Wednesday I went with my sister to Weber State University to see DCI. These marching bands are the best in the U.S. they compete all over and practice like crazy all year until they compete. Some bands we save were Vanguard, Blue Knights, and Blue Devils. These guys were all amazing to watch! Their drumlines were killer good and their drill (formations) were so creative and spot on to watch.
Dayton LOVED it! All the colorful flags and shiny intruments along with the music were extremely exciting to him. The people around us just chuckled at him cooing and giggling at the bands.

TAYA!

Taya is a malamute puppy that we got this last Wednesday. We found her on ksl.com. We got her from a lady in Kearns who had too many dogs and her neighbors wrote a petition for her to get rid of all but two in two days. So, we ended up getting Taya for $70 at 10 months old. They paid $700 for her. She is very well tempered and sweet. Obviously she really needed a brushing, Adam is working on that.
Since I am allergic she is an outside dog. We got her a kennel but have not figured out how to get her to stay in it yet. We are working on that, she is a smart dog. So for now she stays on our deck. We love her already, especially Adam.

Happy Birthday Mama Sue!

Mama Sue's birthday was June 30th and here are a few pictures. We had pie instead of cake, yum! We gave her a new outfit some shorts and a t-shirt. WE LOVE YOU SUE!

While we were there we compared Evelyn (5 1/2 months) and Dayton (4 months) to eachother. Dayton definately outweighs her! He is a chunk!

Fourth of July!

Our fourth of July weekend was great. Since the 4th was on Sunday we spent a whole weekend celebrating our freedom. It was needed too!

Friday night we went to fireworks at Romney Stadium with our friends Sara and Adam Howes. We just sat outside the stadium and watched them. We had a blast! Dayton especially loves both Sara and Adam.

Saturday we went to the good old pancake breakfast in our old stake in Logan. It was yummy as always and fun to visit with old friends. Adam was sure glad he didn't have to spend all day helping this year. That day Adam spent weeding the garden. The weeds were so bad that they looked like ground cover, literally. He weeded for five hours! I only helped for about 1 hour and 45 minutes which I felt bad about but that was as long as Dayton's nap was. Adam asked me to take a picture of the garden and post it on the blog because he felt so accomplished as he should have. Saturday night we went to the theater and saw Robin Hood. This is my blister I got from weeding. I am a sissy, I know. Adam got some too but he weeded about 3 times longer than I.

After church on Sunday we headed south. First we stopped and visited my Grandparents. Then at Lisa and McCords for dinner and finally to Breezy and Mat's. We slept at their house and had the best brownie dessert EVER! Thanks Mat and Bug!

Monday we spent the morning hanging out with Bug and Mat while Dayton took a morning nap and then we headed to Adam's grandparents. They are so sweet and they just love visitors too. They especially love Dayton. He talked to Great Grandma Chandler a lot too. After that visit we got A&W and had a picnic lunch outside in the nice weather. Then we headed to Provo to see Jacki Child since her son, John, is getting married this week and we can't make it. Unfortunatley she wasn't home but we were able to leave a wedding gift and note. Then we headed to Steve and Jan's house for a bridal shower for cousin Morgan's fiance and Adam went to the Bees Game with the guys. (sorry no pics my battery died)

It was quiet the weekend but nice to get away for a bit!

Yup...

Happy Birthday to Mama Sue on the 30th of June! We are so glad she is our Mom and we love her so much! We got together at Josh and Janae's house for Thanksgiving dinner with pie, not cake, to celebrate. It was so fun! Pictures to come.

Our basement flooded. After it was all finished it flooded from the outside spout when we watered the front lawn. There was at least an inch of water on the laundry room floor that I pushed down the drain, the ceiling sheetrock is soggy in places, the wall sheetrock is too, we don't know about the insulation but the pad and carpet are soaked about 1/3 of the family room. We have renters moving in next Friday and now it's flooded. Can I just say we are ticked! The plumber came today and fixed the pipe but now we get to deal with everything else. Grrr!

Have you ever felt overwhelemed? We do right now. New baby, summer school for Adam, plus he is working full time, finishing the basement, now dealing with a flood, the yard, the garden, and all the other daily happenings.

We need a vacation.
