8.8 Quake in Chile on Saturday the 27th!

There was an 8.8 quake in Conception, Chile. So far 300 are dead and the number is rising. Tsunami warnings were sent out to countries bourdering the Pacific. Many on a chilean island suffered from tsunami waves but now tsunami warnings have been lifted.

Jared is not in Conception he is in Futrono. From what we have heard so far he is safe and did not even feel the quake. He is 40 miles off the coast however and tsunami waves could still be a problem.

We love you Jared! You and the Chilean people are in our prayers.

Go ahead, leave your opinion.

At my 38 weeks visit my doctor said I am still not dialated. I was sad, discouraged, and upset. I expressed my concern about Dayton being "big" and he said he'd schedule an ultrasound next Wednesday to check his size. If he is big and I'm still not dialating I can choose to have a c-section. My choice. Otherwise it'd still be the waiting game because he has to let me go one week overdue on my first baby due to IHC policy, unless there is a reason to start me. Blah! Policy smolishee! Shouldn't it just be what my doctor thinks is best for me?

So we are waiting til next week, 39 weeks, to see how big our baby really is. I don't think he is huge but I am guessing 8+lbs.

I've just been thinking all day, if he is "big" should I just have a c-section which they are really good at now days and get hime here? OR should I wait it out and hope that I will start on my own before he sits in there 2 more weeks and comes out even bigger, like 10lbs? AND then just hope I can deliver him normal and not end up having a c-section anyway?

Right now I'm not deciding because I want to see how big he is and if I start dialating by next week. We will see.

One of my last visits...

This last Friday we went to Noorda again. Hopefully it is one of my lasts visits. I am almost 38 weeks now and I am so ready! I have not made any progress since my last visit but he said I should start dialating by the time he checks me next. Dayton's heart beat is strong, he is still head down, and he is growing. I still measure a bit big, 1 cm, as I have for over a month. Noorda says I will not be having a petitie baby but he isn't huge either. I'm thinking great, so he can come on out and be with us now if he is a good size.

We are completely ready for Dayton. We have everything we need including ten packs of diapers. Yeah! Adam and I are so excited for him to come join our family. We are both just hoping he comes sooner than later.

Adam is still working but has not worked more than 40 hours in a week yet. We are grateful that he is at a firm that has high values and encourages their employees to spend time with their families. Adam says they are not crazy busy yet so it might get worse toward mid March and April but he should never work more than 55 hours in a week. That is a sweet deal during tax season!

I am teaching one more week of school. My sub is starting the 1st but if I am not dilated at all by then I think I will teach 3 more days the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but we will have to see. There is no way of telling now. I'm just hoping he is born the first week of March, that'd be so nice!

It is warming up in Cache Valley and we are glad. It is not above 50 degrees but it isn't below freezing. We can't wait to head down to Moab this April after tax season and get some sun.

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines day! I gave Adam a Valentines weekend since he puts up with SO much! On Friday I gave him chocolates with a love note. Saturday he woke up to a heart attack and a giant chocolate kiss. Sunday he go a big tub of redvines, which he loves, and a card. I love you Adam!

For the past 4 days Adam has spoiled me and surprised me with some flowers and a sweet note. All the flowers were put together to make this pretty boquet.

The Chandler family came up for Sunday dinner too! There couldn't have been a better day for all of us to get together. We got to see Evelyn again. She is almost 3 weeks old and so tiny. Ainslie is so good with her too.
We also played a game called Hit or Miss together. It was so fun! Mom and Patty struggled a bit playing against all of us "younger" ones. In this game you have to list all the things you can think of in one minute after a topic card is read. For example one was, things found on a desk. Mom and Patty put a lamp. Which is true but no one else put that we all had things like Ipod, computer, scanner etc. Anyway it was really fun!

Mama Sue goes in on Tuesday for a small procedure on the hole in her heart. It is an outpatient thing they just go in her leg and place a little balloon in the hole. Then tissue is supposed to grow over it within six months. Hopefully this will reduce the small strokes and migranes that she has. Good luck Mom, we love you and will be thinking of you.

Popcorn, shower, and dropping!

A funny:
I have started trying my Dad's way of popping popcorn. You can see I have not quiet mastered his popcorn making skills. I must say though, it tastes much better this way and with real butter not that fake stuff that comes in the bags.

Last weekend Julie Allen threw me a shower. It was so wonderful and we got lots of things that we needed including bath stuff and clothes for when he is older. Thank you Julie! It was so fun and you were so kind to plan it and put it on for me. This weekend Adam and I went around town and got a pack in play, bottles, binkies, and a few clothes that were on clearance since spring is coming. The only thing I have left to get is a pump.
Pictured below: Lisa, Me and Mom
Then Lisa, Me, and Valerie Perry Lish
And Me and Julie! Can I just say she looks so cute and thin; especially next to prego me.

Picture update:

The one below was taken sometime between 32 and 35 weeks. I know it is a gross picture but the reason for posting it is to show how much my belly has dropped. I can tell it has too! The pictures in the green shirt were taken a week ago at 35 weeks.

I'm...

saying teaching is challenging, frustrating, tiring, and tricky.
tired of having contractions, all day, and not having Dayton here.
wishing I could sleep without waking up from hip pain and contractions.
wishing my feet/ankles would no longer swell and take shape around my shoes.
thinking dinner is just going to be leftovers. Wahoo!
grumpy about not feeling well, ever, lately.
waiting for my laundry to fold itself, vacuum to clean my floors, and toilets to sparkle by magic.
yearning for a day with more than 24 hours in it.

praying for my baby to come soon so that I can just stop worrying about all the contractions, house duties, and teaching and just focus on being Mom with my sweet baby boy.

Less than a month to go!

February

I can't believe it's already February! Valentines is just around the corner and so is our little baby boy. I am hoping warm weather is getting closer as well.
This weekend Adam's grandma and grandpa Chandler are moving to Utah from Denver. We are excited that they will be close now and we can get to know them. It'll be fun for me to finally meet them.
Both our laptops have been down with viruses. We took them in two weeks ago and still don't have them back. We had to go buy an external hard drive for all our documents in case they were infected the tech didn't want to load them back on our laptops. Smart I guess but it is taking forever!!!
I am looking forward to having a baby shower this weekend in Logan. It'll be fun to visit with so many friends. Yeah! Thanks Julie.

That is all for now, Happy Valentines Everyone!
