Carter's keepsake

I realized that I never posted Carter's quilt my mother hand pieced together and quilted by hand. Many hours of love were put into this. I love it! Each of my children have a quilt like this with a painted picture in the middle. The picture square was drawn by my Grandmother, Evelyn Day, and when she passed away my mom kept them all. Trudy will turn all of them into special keepsake quilts for her own grandchildren. And what a wonderful keepsake it is! I love my mother for doing all of these. I especially love the hand stitched cat tails on this quilt. It turned out awesome!

Day Family Easter Egg Hunt

Mostly just pictures this post. Lisa and Cord were in California and Jared wasn't there so it was small but fun! The best part for my kids was being bounced on the tramp by Grandpa. I will try to look for that picture later, I can't find it. I wanted to note that my kids are pretty aggressive egg hunters, they run, Rachel tackled Dayton for an egg, they are thrilled when they find one. It was hilarious!

Joe loves Carter! He is always helping me out with him. LOVE you JOE! The girl with him is his girlfriend, Susan.

Happy Easter!

Barker Easter Egg Hunt

Ever since I was a little girl my Grandparents have held a family Easter party. It always includes food, an egg hunt (they used to write our names on plastic eggs for each of us to find, too many people now to do that) and a treasure hunt. For my WHOLE life I have looked forward to this event. I adore my Grandparents! They have taught me through example that family is MOST important. I am blessed that my children get to know them.

The Egg Hunt
At my Aunt Jan and Uncle Wayne Haws Home

 Me with my darling Grandparents!
Carter with his Great Grandma! He was sad because he was poopy. I changed him right after, too bad I couldn't get a happy picture of these two.
Sara took care of Carter the whole two hours we were there. Thanks Sara!
Jared and Talia, Lisa and Cord were in California so Mom had her.
My Uncle Wayne added this cool tree house part to his already awesome play set out back! Dayton was in HEAVEN! Rachel was all over it too! My kids are brave!

THUMBS UP Mommy! She wanted me to watch her go down this big slide. She did it multiple times all by herself, no fear!

The treasure hunt! They find and read the clues hidden all over the yard. Then they each got a treat bag! So, so, so FUN!

Grandma Nola with my Mom and Dayton.

Adam donated his LARGE plecostomus to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy on our way to the Chandler party. He is so proud! And, you know what? He should be! That is pretty darn cool hunny!

Just us; Easter

HAPPY EASTER!
This is just a post of what our little family did.
I will post the three Grandma Egg Hunts we had later.

This is what the Easter bunny brought.
 Rachel's basket
 Dayton's basket
 Carter's basket

Easter Bunny Day, the morning of. Our Easter bunny leaves a mess of jelly beans all over! Crazy bunny!
The kids love to just stuff their cheeks with the jelly beans they pick up all over the house.

The kids checking out their baskets....

Here are the Easter Sunday Outfits!
I had good intentions of getting a picture with all 3 kids but it was a long Sunday and it just wasn't going to happen. So here is what I did get of the older two.

On this Easter Sunday I want to take a few minutes to celebrate the real meaning of Easter. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him life would be bleak, dark, sad, and pointless. Because of Christ we have second chances, new beginnings, forever families, forgiveness, repentance, hope and happiness. I KNOW my Savior lives and I love him. I KNOW he suffered for me. I have felt the Holy Ghost testify of that truth over and over again throughout my life. May we always remember him and do our best each day to live worthy of the blessings of his kingdom. Happy Easter!
