Best Friends as Neighbors

Stokes moved to Mendon and we are thrilled!!!! They had a Welcome neighborhood party, it was awesome!!!

Rach made a new friend

Our neighbor Addie is Rachel's age. Tonight while the ward put in sprinklers she got to go play at her house. When I picked her up they were decked out in princess outfits and sitting on her Daddy's motorcycle. It was priceless!

5 blessings from NMO

1. We are able to receive service. Like the leftover food from scout camp and neighbors mowing our lawn. Tons of people have been so kind. Learning to accept help is humbling but we have done it successfully I would say. We just can't do this alone.
2. Getting our yard work completed by 90 people from our ward, and that's just who I counted. It was an army of angels who came and laid sod and pulled weeds and weeded our garden and more. It was a miracle. We are grateful.

3. Miracles. My dad emailed family and our names were put in the temple, many temples by many people. We had no idea until dad told us. Plus many fasted and prayed in our behalf. The doctors said how much Adam has recovered is surprising, rare, not heard of with NMO. They classify it as anything but a miracle but to me I call it what it is, a miracle.

4. Opportunity for faith to grow. Boy oh boy have I had to and still have to rely on my faith in the lord. Not just rely but really perfect that quality. I find myself doubting a lot about what will happen, our future, my abilities to shoulder the whole family on my own and take care of sick Adam. Then I realize I'm not alone, I am in this with the Lord. He is my foundation and without my faith in Him and God's plan I couldn't be handling this half as well as I am, which somedays isn't even that Well.

5. Growing together. When all this started going down and Adam was loosing his ability to walk, see, control his bladder, eat things he loves, and even remember a lot of what has happened I was broken hearted, totally and completely. I thought and well from all the articles and things docs where saying it was/is very likely that I was going to have to watch Adam slowly die. I have never in my life been so scared. So utterly afraid of what would come. This whole autoimmune disease has made me realize what really matters. Adam is my sweetheart and even though we have only been married almost 8 years it's enough to know I would be lost without him. How this brought light to the importance of family and the silliness of pretty much everything we fill our lives with. It's like one of the prophets said something like , "We get so busy in the thick of thin things that we don't make time for the thick things, that really matter." I know it's misquoted but you get the just and man it's true.

Stoney the kitten

We got a free kitten from the neighbors. I love kittens and HATE cats! I know it's a problem. I'm also very allergic which contributes to that.

I just want to document that I said yes to Dayton when he asked me if he could have one and then called and begged Adam to have one. I caved, well I chose to say yes. I decided his feelings mattered and his wants. Plus the cat will be an outside cat for the mice so that helped me go ahead and say okay too.

It's been awesome as part of summer fun having Stoney. For real, the kids play with him all day.

Rachel got her ears pierced!!!

Rach has been asking me for months, at least 3 months, about getting her ears pierced. Each time I calmy explain what the lady would have to do! Clean her ears, mark a spot, and poke a needle through her ears, twice. I make sure to tell her that it's ok whenever she chooses she is ready. Usually the whole run down of poles turns her off to the idea.

Not today.

Today she asked the same thing, I responded the same way, and she said "Mom, I don't care if it hurts I want pretty earrings like you."
So, off we went!
I am super proud of her! She did not cry! She was SO brave! I mean mega awesome! The lady piercing them was nice and cute to Rach. She said she was the cutest little girl she has ever done! Rach talked her ear off, held really still, even told her thank you for poking her. I mean seriously the whole experience was a dream for me!
Rach did not even cry, she said "Ouch! That hurt." After the first ear and nothing after the second poke. What a champ! I was amazed and my mother heart was beaming! She got two suckers and darling Frozen earrings, which is what she chose.
Happy milestone for us! This showed me that she really was ready to make the decision on her own and control her body and emotions and prove to me and herself that she can do hard things when she works for it and has her mind set on it!

Shower For Susan

Yesterday my sisters and I threw Susan a bridal shower! It was way fun and turned out cute! We had it in moms backyard. It was for family and friends in moms ward. Of course Julie Allen came with Lily and Elsie. It was so fun to talk to her and see how big her girls have gotten! We had Michelle, Annette & Johna, Aunt Jaenette and Katherine, Jan, Grandma, Cristie Caroll, Aunt Brenda and Melissa sent a gift too. We played "The Bubble Gum Game" which is when I interview Joe asking 20 questions and then ask Susan the same questions. If she gets them right she doesn't have to eat a big gum ball. If her answer is not the same as Joe's, even if joe is wrong, she has to eat one. I think she had to eat about 10 gumballs. That was pretty darn good I think! We also did little advice cards and gifts. That was nice too! Thanks everyone who came and happy wedding Susan!

Joy

One of my quirks is that I love little bakeries/sandwhich shops. Especially ones that make treats, and I mean real homemade good delicious ones! So today after Adam's 3rd Retuxin infusion we had to stop and get him lunch so we got to stop here! This is the second time I've been to Gourmandise and it just makes me happy! It's one of those simple treasures in life just holding Adams hand, eating lunch on the patio that bring joy. Needless to say, my tummy is full and we are on our way home. Util next week infusion center. See Ya.

My good listener

Dayton always does his best and tries hard to be a good boy, listen, and choose the right. He is tender hearted when he chooses wrong he feels sad and often cries. Today I asked him to take a nap, which is not daily for him, it's as needed. Adam and I were working on medical bills downstairs and when we came up we found this sight....

Dayton asleep in the living room, on a heat pad (I got out early today) with a pillow, blanket and a bed for his duck.

My heart melted! I only had to ask him once and he was a big boy and a problem solver too! We are so blessed to have Dayton as our son! What a good boy!

Jump Zone for FHE!

My kids LOVE this place!! It made for a perfect FHE together where Dad could sit in the couch and watch in a cool building and kids could wear themselves out.
