I uploaded all of these pictures after going through one file on my computer from this May. I know I missed a lot of key memories on the blog for May because of the move and I am glad I was prompted to check out that file tonight. I want these moments documented.
My sweet Mom with Talia (about 2 weeks old) and Rachel (about 6 months old). Isn't this a great shot of three people I love? I think so.
Me after a new haircut, on our front porch at the new house. I think this photo shows how Rachel is so happy and bright eyed.
Mom and Dayton at our "new" house. This is a day that I actually had time to get fully ready, not just showered and dressed. I posted this because I fail to mention on this blog how much of a Mommas boy Dayton really is. He is so outgoing and talkative, even to complete strangers, but at the end of the day he wants his Mom. I love that!
Dayton is really into baby dolls lately. He has been since he was about 2 years old. Maybe because I have a baby so he wants to join in on the fun. Here he was showing me how he was feeding his baby on his "bubbles." Yes, folks that is what my two year old son calls them. :)
FAT BABY!!!
Holy Cow, I came across this and about died laughing. Rachel is a chunk and we wouldn't have it any other way. This was taken while she was eating rice cereal so the messy face just adds to the priceless photo.
I am an Aunt! For the first time on my side of the family and can I just say I love holding Miss Talia. She is the exact opposite of my kids. Small, dark hair, and skinny! She is beautiful though. Also, I think in this shot my eyes look like I got sleep the night before. That is always a plus around here.
Since we moved 3 months ago we have played with James Garbe at least once a month. Dayton just LOVES James, even though he gave him that cut earlier this year that required stitches, yikes. That just goes to show you that kids really are Christlike and forgive. This shot was taken at our house while they were eating lunch together. Aren't they handsome?
Rachel with my sweet Grandpa Barker, Ronald. My grandparents mean the world to me and I love them so so so much! They have always been so supportive my whole life and even came all the way up from Roy to see our new house just a couple weeks after we moved in. They remind me of my Savior, always thinking of others and so giving.
Dayton loves to play with my Grandma's cane. Yes, she really does use it that short. My guess is that Grandma is about 4 1/2 feet tall. She has shrunk with age. D thinks here cane is so cool! Maybe because it is his size?
Drinking out of the sprinklers.
Soaking wet, with a random face. Look at those eyes!
Digging in the dirt. One of his favorite activities, he is a boy! But let's be honest, girls like digging in the dirt too. It's just fun!
Being silly!
Rachel being a messy eater, AGAIN! Notice the food all over her pants and chair. Yes, she spits or does raspberries while she eats. Ugh, it makes a mess!
I love this man, dearly!
Isn't he handsome?
I think so!
We have been through so much in 4 1/2 short years of marriage but I am so happy that I have been through it with him.
This month, just to boost my overwhelmed and stressed spirits as I STILL adjust to the challenges of two kids. He has let me shop, for me. Yes, that is right new shoes and new clothes, THREE TIMES!
1. Workout clothes- to help me get motivated to run and loose weight. In hopes that this will help boost my "pudgy body" comments that come daily around here. It has helped me run, as for the comments, um.....?
2. Shoes- Shoe Carnival had 2 for $14 so I got new flats and gold summer sandals. Yeah!
3. Khols- I did get most of the items for the kids but I bought me new dark brown capri's and two looser shirts (blousey-ier: totally not a word) to cover my saggy belly skin. I spent a whopping $113 and although my receipt said I saved over $400 (bought everything on clearance) I still spent over $100. Which is NOT typical around here. Guess what though? I did not get one negative comment from Adam. Not one! He said, "Okay." And then was a good sport while I showed him my clothes and some of the kids stuff too.
WOW! not expected.
I am grateful that he loves me even when I am not perfect and even when I am grumpy.
Today, he left work an hour early just to come home and help. It was one of those days when I spent the entire afternoon fighting the kids on taking a nap. If one kid was sleeping it was for 5 minutes until the other kid woke them up from crying. Well, then they were both up and one was left screaming while I tried to help the other one calm down and fall asleep and so on, and so forth...
I wanted to just lock them both in their rooms and me in mine and cry.
I love my children, but today was tough. I needed a nap. So did Rachel and Dayton but they sure did not agree with Mom. It was awful!
After all, I do have two babies. Two poopy bums to change, two baths to give, two to dress, feed, pick up after, entertain, haul around town for errands, feed again, change poop again, wipe buggers, listen to two crying, give a time out, break up a fight, feed again, read two of them stories, hold two of them at the same time, play with two of them, give them both bike rides, give them both naps, feed again, more crying, time out again, clean up again, diaper again, feed again, bathe again, etc. They are just still both too young to really do much for themselves. Dayton is getting there, it just takes patients, I know. Honestly though, when you are the one in the thick of it, it is hard to see past ALL the challenges. However, the blessings do come and I will say that being a Mother has taught me to pray a lot more often.
Most of all I love Adam because he is loving. He tries so hard and works so hard for us. At the end of the day when he is tired he comes home and gives more than what he has energy to give to our kids and to me.
I love you Adam and am grateful for you. I want my children to know this more than anything, that I always loved their Daddy!
And that wraps up the post of great "treasures" from May 2012. Good night.
