Mommies Bubbles

Dayton patted my chest today and said "mommies bubbles, sister eat." Oh my goodness! I have to hand it to him, he is smart and observant. Happy leap year to us with funny funny things coming out of Dayton's mouth.

Good bye dear friends...

Yes, these coupons for a whole year have been a huge blessing and a dear friend. We are so grateful! Today I say goodbye because I am headed to the store to use my last 3 free coupons. Thanks Huggies! You have protected my kids bottoms well. :)

3 months young!

Rachel is now three months. It has gone by so fast. She is getting so big and her legs are now chunky and rolley. She is very social and loves to smile, giggle, and babble at you. Dayton loves to get close to her face and talk to her saying "Hi Rachel," and making her smile. She stands with support really well and holds her head up great. She can roll onto her side too. We are working on sitting up but she isn't strong enough yet. Her hair is thinning in the back because she lays on it a lot, sad. I hope it grows back fast once she sits up and isn't always rubbing it raw. She now weighs 15.5 pounds and wears 6 month or 9 months clothes. She sleeps 7-8 hours at night which I love and she is very content. She loves to watch TV and she loves listening to music. Here are just some photos I took this last week. She is a doll!

The Living Aquarium

On President's Day my parents took us to the Living Aquarium. It was a blast! It was super busy but we still enjoyed it! On the drive down we watched Finding Nemo which Dayton loves and it was a perfect start to the day. We got to see Nemo at the Aquarium too. Dayton loved that! Grandpa was so so so much fun! Dayton loved being with him and doing everything he did. He even crawled through a little tunnel to show Dayton how to do it. Way to be Dad, even in your old age, wink wink! The biggest hit was the penguins, Dayton watched them for a good 15 minutes straight and sayed, "Aww, ohh penguin Mamma!" He was excited about them. He also really enjoyed the frogs and kept saying "Frog, wibit wibit, Momma!" He is one smart boy! Nate got to feed the stingray's which was fun to watch. He fed them squid. One seriously sucked in 1/2 of his arm to eat the squid. Check out the picture. Dad was trying to get Dayton to touch the stingray (these stingray's loved to be petted, they would climb up the side of the pool to reach people's hand) but he was very hesitant. I was actually happy that he was cautious. Dad touched them a couple of times and then got D to put his hand in the water and after a couple of minutes a stingray touched Dayton. He sqeeled, "It got me Momma! It got me!" He was right, IT got him. I am 100% sure he didn't really want to be "got". He didn't cry though, he was a trooper. We plum simply wore him out though. By 1:30pm he fell asleep on my Mom's shoulders and then my Dad got to carry him around for 45 minutes until we left. Yes, he got his workout for the day. :) Thanks Mom and Dad it was SO much fun!

The pictures are in no particular order because I had so many. Notice Nate's face while feeding the stingray's though, priceless.

Hilarious

He got into this all by himself while I was feeding Rachel. I laughed so hard! Nothing more needs to be said!

Some things in our day to day

Diaper changes, diaper changes, and more diaper changes. Mostly I change both kids together so I don't forget which one I did or did not do.

Baths are a big hit at our house. Dayton has always loved the water. Now he washes himself all by himself and as you can see even dumps water on his own head.

Play time is pretty much all day around here. Rachel has just started being able to hold onto toys and will lick/suck on them a little too. I can't wait until she can sit up and really play. We have a couple more months until that happens though.

Dayton always wants to help and be big. He wants to do whatever I am doing. Here he is being a "helper". He loves to mop the floor and yes he actually knows how to squirt the water and wipe it up. What a good kid! If only he can stay this way forever, always willing to help.

My kids together! I could just eat them up! I love that I caught this on camera. Rachel was having belly time and D was watching a movie. He got down and laid right by her in the same position as her. He does this often just to be near her, they are friends. I might regret the amount of movies I let my kids watch some day but right now it is all that keeps me sane in the winter. Oh, and did I mention that Rachel really does watch the TV? It is so funny! Dayton never did that, of course I'm sure I didn't really have the TV or movies on when he was 3 months old.

I love our day to day. It is nothing special or extravagant. Most days I am lucky if both kids are dressed, have clean bums, are fed, and get some one on one time with me. Every once in awhile I come up with fun activities to do or educational games (thank heavens for mandatory preschool time) so Dayton can learn. But those days are few are far between. Plain and simple having two kids less than two years apart is tiring and wears me out. I do love them dearly though!

Our Farm

We sort of live on a farm. We like to think of it as one, it's just the size of farm we can handle. We like having a big yard to play in and have a large garden. Our lot is only .62 acres but it's big enough for us to keep on top of. Dayton LOVES the chickens and dogs. He always wants to help Daddy feed them. It is fun for Adam to take care of the animals too. We have chickens, two dogs, and a 55 gallon fish tank. It keeps him busy in his "spare time". I love having the fresh eggs, it's a plus.

Here are just some fun pictures I got this Saturday after the snow storm. We all went out for a good hour to play in the snow. We also let the dogs out the run, Dayton enjoys that. He especially favors Tika the old white one because she trots around and he can keep up with her. Taya is our Malamute and she is a pretty dog. That means a lot coming from me because I am not a dog person. We had a good time together in the snow this weekend. I think I caught some cute moments on camera.
