Rachel just learned to say her F sound which has been a long hard process for her. She has struggled with it always and in speech it has been a big goal. Just this month she figured it out and she is doing it! Adam and I are so proud of her! We let her pick a place to celebrate and she said she wanted to go to the Fun Park and play the games, cause we never do that. So we said yes! It was so fun and she felt so spoiled. YEAH RACH!

When it rains, and pours then it tsumani's!
We woke up to a flooded preschool room this morning.
After Adam being diagnosed with NMO.
A flooded mud room/laundry this past fall.
Now this!
I am positive 99% of the time but right now this just sucks!
We don't have money to pay to fix it due to our outrageous medical bills. We don't want to place yet another insurance claim cause our insurance keeps going up. But, that room is preschool and makes us money, it has to be fixed. The window filled up with water like a fish bowl. There was standing water on my table and chairs even. Sheet rock ruined too. Water is halfway across the room!
I am so upset.

Dayton gets a tooth pulled!
Darn kid had awful teeth! He just had a filling 3 months ago and now he has a broken tooth. We are just pulling it since an adult tooth will grow in in about a year or less.
He is a champ! He does so well!

Sometimes you say yes...
To the big pink cake at smiths on the bakery clearance rack for $1.50, even though you know it'll be gross, just to make your daughter feel like the queen of the world. She was grinning ear at to ear and telling everyone at the store, "look I got a big pink cake!"
Totally worth it!

Daddies got skill!
So fun watching Adam show Rach how to do a headstand. She is not nearly ready, no core strength, but she tried hard. She loves gym and is diligent at practicing her skills learned there.

Spring coming.... Never!
This past week has been rough. January blues for sure. I always get this way toward the end of January and wish spring to come feb 1st. That is not the case in northern Utah. So what did I do today? I got a new spring shirt a couple days ago, I pulled it out and put it on, curled my hair and instantly felt more cheerful. Spring won't come for awhile but I need to have a spring spirit until it does. 😉

Carter learning his colors
This kid knows his colors. He got almost every one right on the file folder game. His favorite to say and the one he knows every time is "perwple" purple. I think he has picked that up from big sis. I can't believe how big our baby is.

Sunday Beading
After dinner and team working to clean up the house tonight we pulled out Rachel's Christmas beads. It provides for an hour of entertainment on this cold January Sunday. It was so fun! Rachel shared like a champ with Dayton and it was just a yummy mom moment for me.
My baby!
I walked into this cutie fast asleep, still, at 3:30pm. I should wake him up but instead I kissed his head took a picture after staring at him for a long time and walked out. He is my baby as he is big! I love him fiercely!!! He is just a sweetheart! Carter is talking more and more. He loves his snow boots, blanket and binki at night. He always wants a big boy cup which often results in spilling and he is usually a super eater. He is my squishy!
Best picture ever!!!
Carter chilling in his baby suit before church watching The Smurfs which is his favorite, with two sippy cups. Can life be any better? I think not!

All three kids napping, which rarely happens now days, and chocolates just for me, in silence. It's the little things in life!

Patience
Our journey with Adam's NMO is teaching me patience. Both of us patience. A lot of it is waiting. Waiting to see how his body takes treatment, how he manages day to day, how flare ups come and go, how his vision improves or doesn't, how his spirits roller coaster. It is all a lot. On top of the financial burden the expensive treatments bring, year after year, forever. It takes great faith to be strong and courageous and happy through it all. Adam is. Even on hard days when he is in a lot of pain he tries his best to be a light. He amazes me.
I saw this quote, and loved it! God knows better, always. I have learned that multiple times in my life. I know this is true!

Our Otis passed away
This past week Otis has been sick. Started with vommiting, then not eating, crazy diarrhea and very lethargic temperament. By Thursday he was so sick we worked closely with Amy Garbe's dad who is a vet. He said try Gatorade, which we did. Otis took a little, still wouldn't eat good. By Friday things looked bad. Otis was curling up in windowsill and not very responsive. We took him in. Two X-rays showed he had blockage in his bowels. The vet tried a sure way to save him, says it always works. Soaking cotton balls in mineral oil to push out what is stuck. We left him overnight at the vet since he really wasn't doing well. With Adams infusion and typical ER visit I didn't want a dead dog on top of it. I am glad they kept him cause this morning they called to say he died. Adam is sad. The kids will be more sad. It's just sad. Goodbye Otis!

Chicken breeder to be!
Adam is on a new adventure, he is going to try to hatch and breed chickens not just buy them from IFA. My dad gave him an incubator to borrow from his lab. This is like Christmas morning for this guy! He is such a nerd and I love it!

New year, new bar stools!
These bar stools are pretty! More stable the old ones wobble. Plus the height allows adults to sit at the bar. I will be listing the old ones on Ksl. Happy new year to me, really it was Christmas money but still.
We look forward to the new year and hope more than anything it brings health!
