I thought it was fitting!

I know that our current header seems a bit behind the times but the bridals seemed fitting for February since it is the month of love. When these bridals were taken I was very much in love and wooed. Don't get me wrong I am still very much in love with Adam but I was oozy in love then. So I am sorry you have to put up with it but I really like the page I created as well. I am going to be changing our header often just for fun!

Something fun for Angie!

It is a resolution of mine to take time for me so this is what I have been up to. I have had fun going online and creating these fun pages. I am not going to be printing them into a real scrapbook because I can blog them for free, so there really is no point. Anyway take a look I think they all turned out different and fun!You will probably be seeing these all as different headers on the blog too!

Touring the Tunnels in the Conference Center!

All I can say is that this tour was a special experience. Brother Stoddard took us behind the scenes in the conference center. We walked down many halls like the one in the picture below and saw many cool things. The halls were lined with special pictures like these.

We got to go up in the rafters and see this huge beam that supports the entire structure. As many of you know the conference center has no pillars in the middle of the floor like the old tabernacle so it's structure is unique. This huge beam is what supports it. I actually touched it too. We also walked up above all the seats and the organ pipes. Cool!

We also went into many special rooms like this one. This is the server room and it is huge! This is just one small hall of it. All the cords are hidden under a false floor so they are out of the way. I think it looks like colored spaghetti. Brother Stoddard said all the cords have a specific color so when there is a problem the cords causing it are easily found.

These huge organ pipes move! Ya, that is what I thought. What moves them? Beams that use air pressure to lift them. We actually got to go behind the pipes and see them. Look below.

We had the opportunity to see many cool rooms that work many miracles. This is the set that is created to look like a home. Many interviews with the first presidency and quorum of the twelve take place here.This wood was on the walls of a recording room and it is not just for decoration it was specially engineered so there would be no vibration in the room. The church needs everything to work perfectly and even the smallest sound can ruin a recording. We also saw many rooms with hundreds of tv's and expensive equipment and it is all used to do the Lords work. I can't tell you about it all on this post but feel free to ask me or Adam about it. This is the organ, we stood on the stand and actually walked up the stairs that are hidden from the audience but the same stairs that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir go up to get to their seats. It was cool!

Overall this was a touching experience to see how efficient the church is and to hear so many stories of inspiration. Thank you Brother Stoddard.

We have been waiting....

Beautiful baby Bailey was born Jan. 20th 2009 at 7:40am weighing 6lb.14oz. and we are so glad! Good job Steve and Christa! We sure love you and your cute family and we are happy for you! Adam and I have been visiting Christa and Bailey as often as possible because we love the joy that this new little spirit brings, plus she is a cutie. I love her fuzzy blonde hair and tiny toes. It is also fun to watch Adam hold her he is so good with kids. So enjoy these pictures!

A note from Adam

So the year is off to a good start. I've enjoyed not being in school this semester. It's fun rubbing it in at work with everyone who is in school. The extra hours at work are nice too. It'll all have to end though when I go back for my masters. I've got to start applying to different schools so that I can try and get a scholarship. We'll have to see where Angie gets a teaching job before we decide where I'll get my MAcc.
We've got a court of honor coming up next week for scouts. We're going to have seven rank advancements and about fourteen merit badges or so. This Saturday we're also going to go tour the tunnels underneath Temple Square. Personally I'm rather excited about it. We've got a lot of fun plans for this year. Tetons, Mt. Timpanogos, City of Rocks, Manti Pageant, Golden Spike park, and so forth. It should be a good year.

It's time for Valentines! Think love.....

I have decided that I am going to do my best from now until Valentines Day to give lots of love to everyone. Of course this means Adam but it also means my students, my primary kids, my family on both sides, and friends. I am going to do my best at thinking of others and being as kind as possible. I know I won't be perfect at it but hopefully keeping this in mind means my "loving-ness" will be better and I will be more postive with everyone. :) So I just gotta "think love"....

Happy Martin Luther King Day!

Do you know that I have stood on the exact same spot that Martin Luther stood when he gave the "I have a dream" speech? It's true I have, twice actually. It is right in front of the Lincoln Monument and it overlooks a beautiful park that when the speech was given, was filled with thousands of people. I heard once that there were even people that climbed in the trees to listen. What a historic day in our history. I just love history stuff like this and seeing those sites.

Anyway our day today was filled with watching MaKenna overnight, me doing hip hop abs while Adam did scout stuff, cutting Adams hair, working on this cute blanket for new baby Stokes, then a wonderful visit from Sue, Bug and Matt, and of course helping the Molina family with dinner. It has been a nice vacation after all!

We went to Chili's with mom and had a blast! It was nice that they made the long drive up just for us. Lunch was delicious and conversation was enjoyable. Thanks Mom, Bug, and Matt!

I have worked on this baby blanket for new baby Stokes who is coming tomorrow. Christa has an appointment in the morning when they will take the baby C section. I'm excited to hold the little one. Yeah! Anyway I have worked on putting this together this weekend and I think it turned out good. Mary, you should be proud.

5th Graders!!!

Today my emotions are on edge about everything, I'm pretty down. I think we all have those days where nothing really seems to be working out right. Anyway so I decided to do something that always helps, blog.
These are my wonderful fifth graders. They are angel children and when I say that I really mean it. These kids come to school and work the first hour and a half pretty much all on their own. They know what they need to do and they just do it. It is great! This last week I taught a unit on magnets. Every lesson I taught was hands on and movement based. I was happy to see many students who don't typically do well with basic verbal instruction to preform extremely well on the test. Yeah! These are pictures of some of my students working with magnets.

I have been sending notes home to a student a day that has positive things I have noticed written on it. I slipped this note on this boys desk in the morning and I saw him open it out of the corner of my eye. He had a big grin on his face and thanked me. He also told Mr. Allen, "Guess what Mrs. Chandler gave me?" Mr Allen, "What?" "A note." "Oh, that is pretty cool." One of the best parts of being a teacher is seeing your students do well not only with grades but also relationships skills etc. The note habit is something I want to be in forever and ever as long as I teach.

4 day weekend!

I love teaching school! I think I definately picked the right profession, not only do I love the kids but we get all holidays off. Yeah! I don't have school to tomorrow due to a training district wide that I am not required to be at and then Monday of course school is out. So I am going to sleep in, which probably means 8 or 9am, write some lesson plans for next week, and play with MaKenna so Christa can go into labor already! Geee! Oh and I almost forgot and I will be doing my new workout video called hip hop abs that I love. I just started and I think I will stick with this. Just watch you will see the pounds start shedding off of me. he he he...

Pizza for family night!

Today Adam and I got to spend the night together. It's nice to finally have a schedual that is pretty much the same so we get time with eachother. We made our own pizzas together and it was fun. We also watched the Bachelor which I like but Adam doesn't. I admit it isn't a boy show but since I no longer really have single girl friends to get giddy with over boys it's a nice outlet for those emotions. Anyway we also had a little message from the Ensign and that was our family night. :)

Hardware Ranch

GMAT UPDATE, Adam took it on Friday in Ogden and got a 660!!!!! Wahoooo! That is a great score hunny!!!!! We are both really happy about it! So if you see him feel free to congratualte him.
Yesterday we went to Hardware Ranch to see the elk with the Stokes. It was a beautiful drive and there were lots of elk as usual. MaKenna was all bundled up as you can see in the pictures and it was so funny because she would not put her feet down to walk in her suit and boots. I guess she felt too heavy in them or something but it was funny.

David and Jennifer Wright, a family that is also in young mens presidency with Adam had their baby girl, Adison, on Friday the 9th at 5:30pm. Although it was C section Mom and baby are well. Speaking of babies Christa is getting bigger and bigger by the day. She is due on the 20th of this month and so to help her out we had a sleep over with MaKenna last night. It was fun to play Mom. I always enjoy it! This is MaKenna this morning ready for church, she just looked so dang cute I had to take a few pictures. And yes I did get her hair done. If you know this girly she does not like things in her hair but she didn't pull this "do" out.
