Memorial Weekend

It has become tradition that we do our first camping trip of the year over Memorial Day weekend. This year we just went up above our house in the Mendon hills. The kids loved it, as usual! It is nice to be close to home too. I actually ended up driving the truck down the mountain the first night. I did not crash, that was a miracle, to take Vivie home to her own bed. She wasn't doing well in the trailer. That was totally okay though because I went right back up in the morning and it was no big deal.
The kids collected shells, we played games together, we played catch and went hiking.

On Monday we went to Bear Lake together. It was nice weather. Not too hot, although the water was cold. That is always the case with Bear Lake though. The kids didn't mind, they just love the beach. It is one of those happy places for us. We were there for 5 hours with no tears. Dayton and I made a sandcastle and he created cannons with cannon balls attacking it after this picture was taken. He is so creative! I love seeing him create. Rachel was also great at creating! She made soups and salads for me. Carter loved the squirty toys the most and Vivie just watched all the other kids. She did like the water. She kicked and splashed and squeeled when I put her toes in. I let her grab at it too which was cute to watch. She is a good baby.

Of course we had to get shakes from Hometown on the way home. It was the perfect end to a great family vacation.

Susan, Joe's wife, posted this on instagram awhile ago and I came across it today. I had to blog it! What a great memory! Oh, Rachel, we love you! You always say the wisest things!

Carter Graduates ABC Preschool

Carter was in my preschool this year, early. He actually did really well. Except for the fact that I am his mother, which is often hard at such a young age for children to share their Mom with other kids and the attention, he excelled. He is bright! He knows his colors, can count to ten and sometimes 15 with no help. He loves singing the ABC rap, cutting, and painting. He is busy! He climbs, runs, jumps, trips a lot, kicks balls and throws rocks all the time. He is all boy! He is now three and a half and just finished year one of preschool. He knows all the songs we have worked on all year and got an end of year DVD with all his memories and songs on it. He loves watching it! This kiddo is going places and we just love him!

Here are a few pictures of his end of the year Moana Party! It was a blast! Carter especially loved the movie and the squirty toys.

Summer Hair, Dont' Care

Rachel has been begging me to cut her hair for months. I mean at least since Christmas. I told her when summer comes she could do it. So boy did she hold me to it. The day after preschool ended we went to Sister Shelton in the ward and she chopped it off. It looks darling on her but I will admit the first cut made me gasp. It was a good 6 inches. It is still long enough to braid and pony so it is all good. I think it is a fun change for summer. Plus, no more counting down the number of sleeps until she can get her haircut. Ha! Seriously though, she was counting. Love you Rachie!

Mrs. Price and Speech

These two got to go to speech together for the past two month. Carter just barely qualified  a couple months ago and Rachel is not quiet done. I let them attend at the same time, crossing my fingers it would be okay and they wouldn't butt heads too much, and guess what? They didn't. Mrs. Price says it has actually been totally fine. YEAH! I had to grab this picture at the end of the year with them. It is the best one I got. They sure love Shaleace. She has been a blessing to Rachel. She is even her primary teacher right now. Rachel's speech has improved immensly over the past two years and she is now ready for Kindergarten. Carter is just starting but loves going. I am sad to say Mrs. Price is moving so we hope the new speech pathologist is just as excellent.

Mirror fun with Vivie

This baby girl loves the mirror! She is enchanted with it! She thinks it is silly to see herself, I pull faces and she giggles. It is so fun! I caught this crazy half shut eye picture and sticking her toungue out today. It is priceless! Vivian is growing up so fast and my Mama heart can hardly take it.

Aggiesfc

Dayton tried out for the Aggiesfv boys competitve soccer league. He rocked it! There were 50 boys that showed up day one for tryout, 23 made call backs and Dayton was one of them. PLUS, he killed it at call backs and made the final team. They took 22 boys for two teams of 11. I am so incredibly proud of Dayton for being a hustler and doing something new even if it was hard and scary. I think this will be a great thing for him to learn and physically to get his wiggles out. Plus make new friends too and let his competitive side work for him. We went to Cafe Rio, Dayton's choice, in the middle of school for lunch to celebrate. HAPPY DAY!

Vivian almost 8 months old

Just a ton of cute pictures I took Sunday morning. I am no professional but I had to document these. She has grown! She is a wiggle bug. She is cutting two bottom teeth and she has the bluest eyes around. I could eat her up I love her so!
