I AM LOOSING MY HAIR, it's got to be the STRESS!

I am soooo overwhelmed and stressed today and actually I think I will be this week as well. First thing first I am trying to pack boxes and get moved. I am also completing my last week in 5th grade so it is intense getting everything wrapped up. I am also sad about leaving my class. I love my kids! Also I am going to 1st grade and have NO transition time. My cooperating teacher next block is making me teach the first day and by the end of the week I will be doing everything. Ahhh! It is not that I think I can't do it but it is stressful with everything else going on now. You think I would get at least a couple days of a break, right? Well I don't but I guess that is life.
Thirdly, next Monday I have interviews with four school disrticts. I have to have my entire portfolio completed, printed, and "nice" looking. I also have to complete a district application for each district, plus get my resume sprused up, get official transcripts, and 3 letters of recommendation. Yikes! All within a week, while trying to move and still teaching all day.
On top of all of that I don't feel well and keep finding hives in new places each day. It all comes with a body that is "out of wack."
Also Adam is trying to apply to 3 different schools for his masters program. This is a lot of paper work, phone calls, and mailing big envelops that simply takes time. But don't worry with Adam working 40 hours a week, plus young mens, and moving he has plenty of spare time to do all of that. Right? Okay, so I apologize for the sarcasim.
For what it is worth, yes, I am asking for pitty or comfort or help. Any of the above would be great. Feel free to bring some boxes over and I will be more than happy to let you pack. :) Anyway it is 10:30 so I better sleep. Hope things loosen up here quickly.

Goodbye old pink apartment, HELLO TOWNHOME!

We are moving this week!!!! Allelujah! We could not be happier to be out of our stinky, molding, pink apartments and into a town home. Yeah! Just this past week I have noticed sheet rock in the bathroom that is completely soaked and ruined, I believe it is coming from upstairs and I am sure it is from the flood three weeks ago. Anyway, I am just glad I don't have to deal with an apartment that always has something wrong with it anymore. We already paid our deposit for the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhome and the landlord is getting it painted and cleaned before we move in. As soon as those things are done it is all ours. I am thrilled that something else worked out for us so that we don't have to be in our "lovely" apartment anymore.
Here is the old apartment....

Here is the new townhome... (don't mind the cars, sorry but I wasn't about to ask the neighbors to moved their vehicles so I could get a good shot. Although that would have been funny!)

Once a Bride, always a bride at heart!

Breezy is engaged and is getting married to Matt on June 3rd. We are excited for her and a summer wedding should be fun! As I was looking through some pictures on my computer today I ran into this bridal of mine and it reminded me of how fun it was to be a bride. I am sure glad that I didn't worry about all the nit-picky little things that don't really matter and that I enjoyed being happily in love. Our whole engagment was nice and I really enjoyed the whole wedding process. I am glad that things happened the way they happened and that Mom was so willing to plan it all. Love you Mom!

Washer, Dryer, Food, and Family!

Our long weekend was nice! We visited Unce Steve with a broken foot and Morgan who just got home from his mission to England. Sorry I totally forgot to take a picture of Adam and Morgan. We also made a quick stop at Cabelas. There is not a day that we head down south that we do not stop at Cabelas. We both love it! Then we picked up a washer and dryer set for our new apartment, they are 2 years old, for $100. I know it's a great deal right? And they are way nice too. I love ksl.com! We had dinner at Texas Road House with the Chandlers and I loved it! It was crowded but still yum! On the way home we visited Grandma and Grandpa Barker. My family just happened to be there too so I took a quick picture of 3 generations. I like it! That was all!

Yeah for the Red, White and Blue because it's Presidents Day!

Happy Presidents Day! I love having a day off! It is sure nice that I don't have school today. I have to admit though I woke up frightened because I dreamed that I was supposed to be at school and forgot about it. This is how it went...
I was on the farm with an old man that I have never seen before helping him with all the animals. When all of the sudden while I was in the field I realized that my students would be waiting for me at school. At this point I jumped into my huge truck and drove away.
This is when I woke up and realized that it must have been a dream because first off I did not have allergies from the farm, second I was in bed not driving a nice truck, and third because it was Presidents Day!
Today Adam and I will be going down to visit family. We are excited for a good meal at Texas Road House, visiting grandma, and seeing Morgan. Look for some great pictures of our day trip in the next post.

Happy Valentines Day to you!

We had a lovely Valentines Day together. Even though we did not sleep at our own place and I was sick we had fun together. Adam surprised me with a Scentsy warmer and three boxes of the scented wax. Ever since we watched the Allen kids last February and I played with Julie's warmer I have wanted one. I was way surprised and he was even thoughful enough to get me a warmer that is sage green to match the living room decor. Awww! It also came with a card that sings, "I've got you babe" and Adams own voice message recorded on it. I loved it!
We slept in and I made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. Then we just chilled, which was so nice to do, for once. We went on a long drive together just for fun which was pretty. We saw some deer too. We also took care of MaKenna for about three hours. She is always an adventure. :)
Later at night we watched Monsters Inc. together and went to bed at 10:30pm. Yeah! It was sooo nice!
I am glad that I have such a thoughtful and loving husband. Thanks hunny you made our day great!

So many troubles lately!

Our landlords are not going to be replacing anything that was damaged or soaked in sewer water. Even after much prodding and informing them of Alpine cleaning and other such services, so we are going to move. We really don't want to live in a place that is stinky and will probably be growing mold, at least that is what the health department said. So we are actually looking at town homes now that are much nicer than our apartment now and newer which equals better insulated and cheaper heat bill. Yeah! Anyway we will be moving at the end of the month and would love any and all help we can get.
Also this month is the month that our little car needs to be inspected. Guess what? It didn't pass. Grrr! It will be at least $500 to fix it and we don't want to spend that much on that 1993 toyota tercel. We love the little car but it's just not worth it to us. So it is a good thing that we are moving about a mile closer to Adam's work so he can walk or ride his bike now. I am student teaching in Hyrum so I will get to drive the Santa Fe still. Hey, at least both vehicles are not down and out right?
Also we just got billed for my yearly check up with the doctor and for some reason they are saying we owe way more than we should, especially since we already paid our deductable for the year. Grrrr again!Dumb hospitals!
We are extremely grateful for our friends the Stokes who have been letting us sleep in their couch for the past two nights. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends who understand our little crisis.
My teaching is still going well! I only have two more weeks in 5th grade. I am sad that I will be leaving. My students just barely finished a big non-fiction paper we have been working on for almost 3 weeks today and I was proud of them when I read them and graded them today. Although I was at school until 6pm it was pure happiness to be there.
We will keep you updated on life. As for now we hope all of you are well!

FLOOD!!!

Last night at 11:30pm when Adam came home to me sleeping he walked into an apartment that smelled like a bathroom. He went into the kitchen to find both sides of the sink completely full with yucky water and the entire kitchen floor flooded. The sink had overflowed on both sides down the cupboards even filling a drawer up, and all across the kitchen floor onto the living room carpet. Adam woke me up to clean up the mess with him. I am convinced that we are the nicest tenants ever to clean it up the best we could until morning so we didn't wake the landlords at midnight. Anyway Adam told our landlords in person and they seemed to not really think it was a big deal. About fours hours later, after church, Adam made a second phone and said this is a BIG PROBLEM. This time Alfonso our manager came down and when Adam walked in with him it was flooding again. Come to find out it happens when the girls in the apartment upstairs shower. This time when it happened the pipes were unhooked and it made an even bigger mess. Since it is sunday nothing can be done and we are sitting in a sewer. We are not happy with this and it sounds like the landlords are not even going to replace anything. They said they will unclog the pipe and clean the carpet. Doesn't this look like a bigger problem than that? What do you think? I mean wouldn't you worry about the sheetrock, moldy carpet pad, and rotting old cabinets?

Oh and on a better note this Saturday we helped with an eagle project. We had to go around Logan city on certain streets and take pictures of the intersections. They are trying to get a grant to improve all the corners of an intersection to look like this one below with the half circle, ramp, and the detectable warning pads. So we spent about 4 hours doing this on Saturday with the boys. We still have more streets to do but we are about half done. :)

American Idol

I must admit I am a huge fan of American Idol! I have been watching it ever since the beginning of this season. I have never been so into Idol before but I enjoy it. I think it is because I am not so busy studying at nights now so I actually have time to sit and just veg. It is nice! I really love the blind guy, I apologize for not knowing his name, the big build guy who works contruction Matt Beltzky I think and about three or four of the girls. I have to be honest bikini girl must go. Her voice is not that good compared to the others and she sings pretty airy. Blah! Anyway we will see how it goes tonight. I'm excited!

I AM A REAL TEACHER!

Well as real of a teacher as I can be for now! Minus the actual teaching certificate and diploma I am a teacher. :) My cooperating teacher, Mr. Allen, was gone today and there was a substitute. The sub sat in the back of the room all day while I taught everything. Although I have been teaching everything for almost two weeks now there is something about doing it all on my own with no teacher there to help me just in case I need it that feels good. It was a wonderful day and I feel very accomplished. There were no huge behavior problems, in fact the students were absolutely quiet and kind the entire day. We got through all the lesson plans and the kids worked hard. I must say it is a good feeling!
Yesterday was ground hog day and my family threw a big party as we do every year. Sorry I did not take pictures but there were about 15 people there and tons of food. Jared said to Adam over the phone, "Dude, you have to get over here there has never been so much good food at our house, I mean junk food." And when we showed up we soon realized he was so right. We watched the movie Ground Hog Day and laughed lots. It ended the same way it does every year. If you have not seen this movie I highly suggest it. In a way it is inspiring and makes a good point about how we should live our lives.

How to post a scrapblog as a header?

That is a good question. Many of you are asking, how to? Well first create the page and then you must click publish now followed by an okay. You do not have to share your scrapblog but you must publish it. Then you go to the left hand corner of the page where you create/edit the pages and hit file and then export image as jpg and save it on your computer. It is that easy! Good luck! Oh and Happy February!
