Lots to blog about!

Tonight we are headed down to Lehi to go to a wedding reception of Adam's friend Emily who is actually marrying a guy that was in the MTC with him, Elder Durrant. Small world! Then we are going to be spending the night at Lisa's and going to Ryan's, another one of Adam's friends, tomorrow night. It'll be nice to have a night away and see old friends.

All the paper work has been sent in for the house as of Tuesday I believe. Technically we are a week behind but we got a week extension so the bank will not penalize us for not being in the house yet. We are hoping to move in next weekend, Labor Day weekend. We better be in the house by then because I will feel really bad living with Mom and Dad for more than a month. I already feel like a sucker, and I am sure you married people out there understand that feeling.

The baby is doing great! The heart rate was 169 beats per minute which they say means it's a girl. 110-130 means a boy and 130-160 means a girl but it's obviously not a 100% accurate otherwise they would go off of that to tell gender, right? Any of you out there that have had babies have you found this "heart beat thing" to be true?

For all of you who don't know we FINALLY got the little green car registered and fixed. After having it sit for 6 months we decided with a baby coming, buying a house, and tuition we better just fix it rather than just buy a new one. So that is what we did. Thanks to our friend Brady Herd we replaced both front axles and front brakes for about $160. The mechanic quoted about $600 so we feel good about it. Oh and it needed new windshield wipers. So it's back!

This last Sunday the Allen kids came over to my Mom and Dads house to play while they went to the temple dedication. They were so fun to play with and of course my Dad loved it! Here are just a few pictures of the kids helping Dad out in the garden. Brigham was out there just picking tomatoes all on his own while Dad was on the other side of the garden picking corn. And he is so smart he actually picked red ones. He said, "Kwreg, I need a dish." He wanted to put them all in a bowl. So cute! Cannon crawled around and loved the hose. Lily helped water the plants. It was so priceless to see them all with Dad. They really respond well to him. I just kept thinking what a cute Grandpa he will be.

Last but not least I AM READY FOR SCHOOL! I have everything copied, set up, and planned for the first three days! Yup, it's time!

Our new addition!

It is true and we couldn't be happier! We are due March 10th and can't wait to meet our little one. It was so cool to see the ultrasound and watch how much our baby moved. It was rolling around, sucking it's thumb, and our favorite is this picture where it's just chilling with it's hands behind it's head. The doctor said everything looks good, the baby is very active, and has a strong heartbeat. We are so blessed and excited!

I hope they call me on a mission...

My little brother Jared opened his mission call this last Thursday at about 11:30pm at the SLC airport. He has been in Germany having fun for three weeks and his mission call came when he was gone. I want you to know that white envelope has been sitting at Moms house for about two weeks, tempting me, but I never gave in. I think everyone was anxious to know where he was going and Jared was too.

So, he was called to the Osorzo, Chile mission Spanish speaking (obviously) and he leaves Dec. 9th! He is going to take a semester of classes at USU before he leaves.

We are so excited for him! Go buba! Sorry I don't have a picture. I have been REALLY bad at the picture thing lately.

Yes it's true!

I got an iPhone last week and love it!!!! Adam will be getting his in September when he is up for an upgrade. For now he just plays on mine. I must say it is so nice to have internet access in my pocket plus all the nice applications too!

Starting tomorrow I will be busy all week with trainings for school. I'm excited to meet new people and learn new things. My class is pretty much ready to go minus hanging up a few things which won't take long.

So I just need to learn how to use my smartboard and plan out the first couple weeks with the other fifth grade teacher. She will be at the training tomorrow so hopefully we can get things arranged then.

As for us life is great! We have about another week until we close on the house and then it'll be painting for us. Hopefully things go as planned so we can paint and get moved in Wed. the 26th through Saturday the 29th before I start teaching on the 31st. We will be really busy this week and next but we will keep you posted. If anyone is able to come out to Mendon and help paint let us know, we would really appreciate the help.

And about the post from yesterday, it's all a lie. Someone logged onto my account and posted them without me knowing. Sorry to let all of you down but no twins! Gee!

I Got a Brand New Classroom!

Ha, that title reminds me of a country song. :)

At my school they just built a brand new portable. It was finished last week. I know what you are thinking, it's a portable, but keep in mind my school was built in like 1910. So, it is far nicer and smells much better than any other room. My principal had me in one of the old portables as of yesterday but she called and asked if I wanted this one. How can you pass that offer up right? It has cool perks like a projector, a smart board, and brand new cupboards and counter tops. I really like it! Plus it is about twice as big as the other room I was going to be in which is good because 5th graders take up a lot of room.

Last night Adam and I were at the school for 4 hours moving everything into my new class. I also got to go through the old 5th grader teachers stuff and take what ever I wanted. I got a lot of books, math manipulative, social studies materials and science stuff. Yeah! It is nice that my principal let me pick through all of it!

So I think I am about ready minus making name tags, putting up the race track around the room for classroom management thing, and planning. I have not been able to plan anything yet because the other fifth grade teacher will not email me back and is never at the school. But our first day isn't until the 31st so I'm not worried we still have plenty of time! I can't wait to teach!

Amidst the hussle and bussle we have...

1. Gone to youth conference for three days up Smithfield canyon. It turned out really well and Brittany Herd did a great job planning it. The youth had fun too!

2. Packed in one day, thanks to my family! Moved in one day, thanks to Adams family! Thank you guys so much. We had to be out of our apartment by last Tuesday and we got back from youth conference Saturday. Plus we needed one whole day to clean and get the carpets cleaned. We were in a pinch but it worked out.

3. We moved in with my parents. My brother Jared is in Germany for three weeks and it just happened to be the three weeks that Adam and I had no place to live between our contract at the apartment ending and closing on our house. So it's worked out nicely. We just sleep in his room and try our best not to bug Mom and Dad too much. (wink wink) Anyway, thanks Mom and Dad you are life savers once again. We love you!

4. Been trying to get ready for school. Adam starts the 25th in his masters program at Utah State. I have ordered most of his books online already and might I add I got great deals on most of them. 3 books for $135. Sweet! The bookstore would have charged me over $400. Yikes! Yesterday was my last day at Six Star so that I can go to new teacher trainings and get my classroom out together. I have a lot of things ready but I also don't have a lot of things ready. So it'll be nice to have the next week just to myself to prepare. Then the following week is training at the district office. And then I have one more full week to prepare. The first day of school is the 31st.

5. Enjoyed the Cache county fair and rodeo. We went to see all the animals and we went to the rodeo last night. It was so so so fun!!!! We both love rodeos even though I have to take allergy medicine like it's candy!

6. Adam also had a water balloon fight with the young men and young women for their combined activity this month. He said it was a blast! He came home soaking wet might I add. :) He will be sad to leave these boys.

7. The house was inspected and appraised this week. Also our loan was approved! We are just waiting on rural housing



That is what we have been so busy with! It's been an adventure that is for sure and we know there are many more to come. We will keep you updated!
