Some do-da pictures that HAD to be blogged!

Happy Birthday Grandma Sue!

Sue came up last Sunday with Bug for her birthday. It was so fun to have them. I made dinner and Breezy brought pie. We ate, visited, laughed, and played. Josh, Breezy and Adam all went in on a jacket for Mom she has really wanted for a while. She was happy when she opened it. She did have LOTS of helpers while opening her gift. It was nice to finally get a picture of Sue with all my kids.

Happy Birthday Sue! WE LOVE YOU!

This week's theme...

CAMPING!

We made hand print fire's and had a fire in our back yard.

We read this book and went on a Bear Hunt, multiple times.

We created fun pine cone art. Rach probably made a dozen of these, she loves paint!

We watched the clouds outside and played in cloud dough. It is just flour and baby oil. Super fun!

Daddy hung out with Carter while Dayton and Rach played in the could dough. I did let Carter get in it at the end and he giggled and was a MESS!
Don't you think Adam and Carter look a like?

To top it all off we plan to go camping this weekend too! Yup, it should be a blast!

Willow Park Zoo Trip

This summer I started a Cache Valley Summer Kids Club. We do an activity every week, all families in the valley are invited to attend. Our FB page has almost 400 likes which is great! I arrange an event, some are free and some are just a couple of dollars. It has been fun so far. This week our event was a zoo trip with a presentation where the kids got to hold a Cackatoo. AWESOME! The lady also showed them an OWL, Chinchilla (they got to pet) and a snake they got to feel too. Dayton soaks this stuff up, just last night he was telling me facts about all the animals she talked about. It made my Mama heart happy!

Yearly Pass...

was money well spent.
We went to the Aquarium in Sandy again and didn't feel rushed. In fact, we didn't even see everything because we knew we have a pass and can come again anytime we want to. And, we will!!!

This time we used one of our 3D movie tickets, that was an adventure. At first the kids didn't like the moving seats and sprays of water but eventually they giggled and thought it was funny.

We had a good time together!

Internal Ultrasound

I went to LDS hospital in SLC last Friday for my internal ultrasound and biopse of the cyst in my pancreas. They did not put me fully "out" with the anesthia so I actually woke up normally and didn't have to stay over night. It was SO great! Dr. Sandhu is very specialized in what he does and he is one of the few in the U.S. that deal with this type of procedure. So I was in good hands.

Sue let us use one of her free nights stays at the Spring Hill Suites in Sandy so we wouldn't have to drive as far early in the morning. Then she came and played with the kids and took them to the park while I was in the procedure.

The whole thing went smooth. Doctor said my pancreas is "abnormal" stringy looking, I guess about 30% of people have a pancreas like this. Typically those who drink alcohol, which I don't. He said the fluid removed from the cyst did not look that which is typical if it is cancer. So, he simply said to check back with Dr. Gargg the specialist at Logan Regional and see what he wants to do with the information they found. It could still be pancreatitis.

I have to mention that the worst part of the whole thing was getting my IV in. I have 4 nurses try and it took 5 pokes. Once the needle was in and the blood just came squirting out and pushed the needle  out too. What a mess. So, my arms are SUPER bruised. I did have a sore throat for a couple days afterward and no voice. That is to be expected when they shove a tube down your throat though.

I am grateful to all those who kept me in your prayers. I am hoping it is just some fluke, weird thing that will continue to come less and less often and eventually go away.

For now, even though I had to do all of those crummy doc visits etc. I am grateful it is not a BIG problem.

Baby Mohawk

I love my sweet, calm, quiet one! He looks so adorable with his "first haircut" a little off the top so it didn't curl when spiked. Love his do!

Water Animals and Water Fun!

This week we learned about water animals. We searched for animals in the sand at the water table. Then we talked about each animal and I told my kids 1 or 2 interesting facts about each one. They LOVED this! Then we played "Simon Says Be An Ocean Animal." It was a hit! The kids were so cute acting out the different animals.

After the sand table we made fish! The kids colored a coffee filter that I cut like a fish with washable markers. Then we sprayed it with a squirt bottle because the colors run together and look neat when sprayed! After they dried we added a googly eye. They turned out cute!

We also spent the week reading these books!

We had fun in water as well. Most of these items I just got at Dollar Tree, woot! The kids sprayed the side walk with squirt bottles, painted the sidewalk, made big bubbles, and played with squirty swords.

We got creative during music and shook our "shaky eggs" to sound like rain. If you don't have these I suggest making some with plastic easter eggs and rice. Just make sure to glue them shut. These really sound like rain and it's fun!

Dayton and Rach used ribbons to dance slow and pretty like a river or stream. It was fun to watch their minds run and see their creativity.

Of course Baily is here again this summer so she joins in on the fun! We adore her!

That was this week's adventures. Next week will be about camping! Yes!
