Renovation Day 2; Sunday

1. Patched holes with putty, then primed.

2. Finished removing base cabinets. 

3. Painted all ceilings and top crown molding white.

4. Removed all outlet covers etc. on wall

5. Removed all closet doors and hauled a lot of things to the garage. 

6. Took a crowbar to the tack strips.

7. Finished pulling up carpet.

8. Rolled paint on all the nasty floor boards. Yuck! Just look at the animal pee stains. It gets rid of the odor. We had not planned on doing this but we worked hard and busted it out! 

Again up til 2:30am. 

Renovation Day 1; Saturday

1. Removed base kitchen cabinets 

2. Removed counter tops

3. Ripped up almost all carpet and pad.

4. Started tearing up tack strips.

5. Painted color spots on wall to see how we liked them in a bigger space.

Angie worked until 2:30 am and Adam worked a little  longer than that.

Rachel meets her teacher

This year Rach gets to go to her very own preschool with Mrs. Kalei.  I hope that this year will be good for Rachel. I know she will like having her own time and feeling independent and learning with her own peers in her own class.

This morning when she "met the teacher" she walked right in, listened to Mrs. K, put her shoes on the mat, hung up her backpack, sat in her seat, colored her picture, talked well, and played nice. WOW! I think this year will bring lots of growth for her.  I hope so!

 Kalei was actually one of my young women when I coached basketball about 3 years ago in Mendon 1st ward. This was before Rach was even born and now Kalei is all grown up and having a baby of her own. It is funny how time flies and life moves on. I hope Kalei adores her.

First Day with Mrs. Harker

Today is Dayton's first day of his last year of preschool. He is going to rock at school! He is so smart and friendly. I love how big he looks/is.

These were taken before we left this morning at Grandma's. I love his bright blue eyes!

The plan today is to hang out, ALL DAY! Hopefully in pajamas or at least comfy clothes while watching movies like The Three Little Pigs and reading library books til our little hearts are content. 

It's our last day at the trailer park. Tomorrow we move this thing to my parents house til Labor Day. Next Thursday we close on the Mendon house and plan to paint on Labor Day. September 2-4th we are getting new hardwood floors and carpet upstairs. Oh, I'm so thrilled! We survived! I only had two "this is hard" days while living in our trailer. I'd say that's admirable with three small kids for a months time. We are looking up now! 

D's meet the teacher!

This year Dayton has a new teacher, Mrs. Harker. She is in our new ward in Mendon. I really like Kim and I hope she is a good fit for Dayton. He was very excited to go yesterday. So excited in fact that it took him 40 minutes to color his box car. I'll admit I was loosing my patience. He just wanted to look at everything on the walls, talk to all the kids, and ask Mrs. Harker questions. He is very social! I love my guy! One more year til kindergarten and I hope he loves it. Four more sleeps til his first day of preschool.

It's a good thing this trailer is on rubber wheels.

Praying for our safety and my sanity. 

Honestly, I was feeling sorry for myself until I remembered that family with 5 kids that pulled up earlier today and pitched a tent for a week. They plan to camp til they find somewhere to live. I wonder how they will sleep tonight? In the mud and storm.

Riding, riding, riding

Tonight the kids rode horses with Daddy. They love it! We watched some horse riding lessons too which was entertaining. I'm highly allergic so I don't get on them but I'm happy to watch. Too bad summer is ending. We love being in the outdoors every night! 

Reading, we love it!

I am the first to admit I am addicted to children's books. I think this has been passed on to my kids. We love going to the library, we love getting a Scholastic "book box" on our doorstep, we will spend an hour straight reading book after book AND every night my kids spend at least 30 minutes looking at books and falling asleep with books in their hands. It's a beautiful thing!
