I Fly

Breezy gifted Adam a trip for his whole family to go indoor skydiving. I was a fifth wheel and tagged along to take pics. It was aweaome and a great time with Sue and Davee too!

Fly time!! They each got 1 minute in the wind tunnel with an instructor, twice. It was so fun to watch! The professional skydivers were there training. The things they could do was just incredible to see!

We got costa vida after and visited and it was seriously one of the best memories I have with the chandlers! Thanks breezy!

Rachel wrote her name!

Well she traces it, all on her own! Yeah!!! Age 3.5 years old!

Life of Me (a Mom)

I had big plans today while D and Rach were at preschool. No errands to run so it was house hold chores. I woke up at 7am, went running!
By 7:30 am the two older kids were up and hungry. So before I could shower I got them breakfast.
8:00am tried to shower but Dayton and Rach were fighting. Over who knows what, some silly thing like usual. I help them resolve it and then tell them time to get ready for school.
8:10 am I remember tuesday is Dayton show n tell day. He took and easter bunny my aunt Karen crocheted since this week is easter theme.

8:15 am Carter is awake, I get his bum changed and him in the high chair to eat.
8:35am I have to get then kids dressed for school! Still no shower! We rummage Rachel's closet and she chooses her outfit! She has to pick it out herself and get dressed on her own too. "Wook how big I am!" she always reminds us.  She does not want me to leave her alone in her room (I think it's in case she needs help, which she usually does but only when she asks.) Strong willed girl!
8:50am Teeth and hair time. Oh wait, Dayton is still in pajamas (he is very easily distracted.) Even though I asked him to pick out clothes 30 minutes ago there he sits playing chase with Carter (which was adorable.) I have patience and ask him again nicely to choose clothes. (Pat on my back.) About 5 minutes later I end up choosing for him. He doesn't care what he wears like his sister does.
9:00am Hair and teeth time, let's try this again! Carter wants to suck toothpaste off the toothbrush, so I let him.
9:05 am I ask the kids to please get their shoes on and backpacks. I tell them I am getting in the shower. (I bet we all know how that goes.) I lock the bathroom door and take a 5 min shower. I hear Carter crying outside the door. Typical.
9:12 am I'm dressed and out of the bathroom with wet hair after 7 minutes!

9:14 am I check on the kids to see how the shoe task is coming. Rachel has two socks on D has one sock on. At least they tried! I help them finish! (Pat on the back again for me. I'm trying hard to be patient with them.)
9:20 am We grab backpacks and head out the door to load in van for preschool. Rach spills her water leftover from McDonald's last week in the car. Good thing it was just a little. I didn't loose it, I told her it was ok and throw the cup away. (Pat on my back, again.)
9:24am We pull up in front of neighbors to get Mary Jane for carpool.
9:26 am I drop Rach off at school. Dayton has to run out and give her a hug and kiss and tell her to have a good day before she leaves. I love how tender he is and protective of his little sister. She hugs and kisses him and they yell, "Love you!"
9:29 am I drop Dayton and MJ off at school. Hug and kiss and he is on his way. I remind him about his show n tell in his backpack.
9:32 am I arrive home with Carter and a big to-do list.
I hurry and dry my hair and try to get going on my "around the house" things. Carter is super whiny! He follows me everywhere begging to be held. His teeth are coming through, 4 eye teeth. I end up holding him and dancing/snuggling for 30 minutes! Sometimes plan change and I loved it!

10:10 I decide I have to get something done! I put baby on the couch with his binki and blanket listening to music. He stayed for about 2 minutes!
In 20 minutes I made meatballs, washed these dishes, started a load of wash, and folded this laundry! (See below) Woot!

Then Carter was in complete meltdown with crocodile tears! So, I put him down for an early nap at 10:35am!

Whew! I sat down and thought... This morning is blog worthy! It's comical... Or will be in 10 years.... It's real craziness.... That is for sure...it is my every day... Literally.... I'm needed and pulled by my 3 kids every day! What else is more perfect to add to our family history? Right? And as I sit here my tummy grumbles and I realize I don't think I ate breakfast. Gah! Motherhood equals no time for yourself.

This morning doesn't show a clean house, perfectly happy kids, or a put together Mom. It DOES show commitment, family, siblings working together and fighting together, my struggle every day to "keep up" at home and mostly our life right now as we strive to do what is right and build our family!

Now I sit at the table trying to go trough the ads, clip coupons (which I rarely use) or mark prices to price match for my grocery trip later this week. I plan a menu each week it hangs on the cork board. I try hard to make homemade meals that are healthy and allow us to stick to our budget.

This afternoon will be filled with me squealing over preschool crafts/papers, lunch time, more dishes, nap for Rach and quiet time for D, then helping kids get their chores done before they get to spend a late night with Uncle Jared and Sara. Carter gets to play with Susan while Adam and I go to Ogden. I'll have to pack dinner and bags for the kids too. It never ends...

Do you think I'll have time to go potty or get my hair straightened and make up on? Ha ha ha!!!! That was funny!!!!!

Always something to do around here! It is crazy, it isn't Glamourous, but I wouldn't change it! Motherhood.

Oh, and did I mention I still teach Mendon Music twice a week plus we each have 4 callings if you count home teaching and visiting teaching. And the 3/4 acre yard we are trying to get spruced up for spring. Good thing spring break is next week. Oh boy, I gotta plan that too and pack everyone and load the camping trailer. Good thing Adam helps with that. Yup-er-eee it is a lot, all the time! It's taught me to prioritize that is for sure!
Maybe this is why I am getting wrinkles and white hairs?
Over and out!

He wants to be big!

Lately Carter points to paper and a pencil or any writing utinsel and wants to draw like the big kids. So, I let him! And it is just about the cutest thing! By the way he chose to sit in the little rocker. Cutie pie! He is almost 17 months!

Finally!!!!

Today after living here for 7 months I have my other pantry door on! Yeah!

Originally the countertop guy who custom built our counters had the corner by the pantry doors at a 90 degree angle. Well, the door couldn't open without hitting the counter edge and then scrapping it up. (I may have cried when that happened after hundreds of hours refinishing these cupboards.) So it has taken us this long to getting around to calling the guy back to fix the edge, he came this week, yeah!

Today Adam put the door on the pantry! Yeah! Now it'll be much harder for Carter to empty it. Ha ha ha!

So here is the fixed corner and the door!

Brushing

He is such a big boy! He climbs like crazy now!
He often gets up on the bathroom stool and points to the water saying "eh, eh!" I turn it on him and he will dip the brush in and brush his own hair. It is adorable!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This is about how a photo op goes around here! Ha ha ha!

Picture 1: clearly someone isn't happy, he didn't want the "sparkly" hair gel. I don't even own gel with glitter in it?!?!

Picture 2: "dayton smile!" better right? A little.

Picture 3: "Rachel look at Mommy!" Carter eating a toy... Nom mom.

Picture 4: Now I have a Dayton smile, Rachel "looking" (laughing til I cry) and Carter not stuffing his face as much.

Picture 5 and 6: Carter throws in the towel. "Alright mom, I'm out! This is boring!"

And off he went! And we are done!
Off to school we went in green! With not ONE good picture. And, I posted only half of what I took. Oh me oh my.... I tried.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Spring clean up

Yeaterday we spent the afternoon cleaning up the yard a bit. Seeing as how we have 3/4 an acre we just put a dent in it but that's ok.

The kids helped gather sticks to put in a pile and burn while I racked. Adam has been working on his chicken coop for about a month. It was his birthday present from me, that he could use the play house for chickens since its been a debate between us since we moved in, and that he could buy materials to make a chick cage and buy 20 chicka! Adam already placed an order for 20 chicks to pick up in the first of April. It's his fun little hobby! Carter loved being outside and was tromping up the hill, then falling down it again and again. He also loved the slides we pulled out and he can climb them all by himself. D and Rach played in the bed of the truck! They loved that!

Here are just a few pics of the day!
The chicken coop, complete with electricity and two seperate areas with a little chicken door that connects inside to the run.
Carter loving the water!

The front flower bed! I'm still working on the rock edge. I also want to plant some flowers soon!

The pile of sticks! Maybe next weekend when we have time to gather more we will burn them?
And there is much much more to do! Good thing we like yard work and being outside in the fresh air.

Spring FHE...

Oh how we are loving this weather! It was 70 degrees yesterday! The kids have been playing outside all afternoon lately and even getting pink cheeks! So, we went with it for family night.

Adam taught a short and sweet lesson about how God created the earth and all things in/on it. All the animals including ducks. All creatures are of God so we should treat them as such. We sang, "I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world, Heavenly Father created for me!"

The kids loved feeding the ducks! Loved it. Carter was asleep in his car seat so he isn't pictured but we had a great time together up the canyon and in nature. It is just like our yard now... Ha ha ha!

I have to admit Monday night is my favorite! Family night with a focus and a purpose. Love it and so do our kids!

Dayton's Wild Kratt Birthday!

D turned 5 years old! He loves the show on PBS kids called Wild Kratts, it is all about animals. So Mom and Dad gave him an animal creature power suit for his birthday and Rachel gave him another set with power discs and animal figurines to add to it.

Helping me make his cupcakes with creature power discs on top.

All of his friends from preschool were invited plus Elijah, Baily (who didn't make it) and Rachel. Here they are eating pizza and squeeze it's.

Blowing out his candles.

Everyone all together after our creature power hunt outside and before presents.

Playing animal follow the leader! They loved this game!

Happy Birthday D! You are a wonderful boy and so kind and social. We love you!
